I love Leipzig where we live, but I am really in love with the village of Gräfrath in Solingen where we have our second home, needed because of my work.

This shot is not from living room window but from kitchen in Gräfrath, taken last year when the marching band had last rehearsal before village carneval:

ripbox, you can come and live there if you like. My place may be too small, but there is a nice hotel next door where you can stay as long as you wish.

It's very beautiful there. We have friends in Bad Peterstal, love to visit them especially in the summertime.

Yeah, who want to be there in the winter. Florida is better (although this year it is pretty dismal here too - because of El Ninjo).

You certainly have a great view, I'm jealous not everyone is lucky enough to be able to follow the weather when it comes to where they live, at least I don't have to look out on concrete I have a few trees around me and fields over the back the sea a couple of miles away, I'm glad I don't have to live in the town or a city ;)

That is awesome.
I really miss living in the country. The views are just awesome, especially when un-littered with houses.

Ya know what's really sad? The top pic of yours was what it looked like here yesterday, nice, warm, t-shirt weather.
Then this morning, I woke up to find the second pic.
Messed up weather here in spring.

Yeah, reminds me of the weather in upstate NY. One day it was 65F, the next day we had 2 feet of snow. A few years ago, they reported a drop of temperature of 100 degrees (F) in 24 hours somewhere in South Dakota. That is hard to believe but it was a reputable newspaper.
In Europe, we do not have those violent changes. It slowly gets colder in the fall and slowly gets warmer in the spring. But from day to day, it does not vary a lot.

Yeah, where I live, this is pretty normal. Our spring is usually a mess, it can be hot one day, then freezing the next.
20 years ago, on March 13th, it was 85 degrees F for about 3 days(normally in the 40's and 50's.). Numerous tornado warnings, and our farm was all but destroyed. Less than a week later, it was back down to freezing at night.

Pics showing one of my favorite places in our hometown Leipzig, the African restaurant in Zoo. Leipzig Zoo is almost in the middle of the city, big and very well kept. We both love the zoo, we buy year passes every year and go there quite often. It's a ten minute walk from our house door.

My favorite Saturday / Sunday activity in the summertime is to walk there with a book after breakfast, and sit on the terrace all afternoon watching the animals of the savanna, reading and sipping whisky.
