Some individuals a calling saying they are from Microsoft Tech and you have a virus or such on your computer and you need to buy their firewall program for $300.00. or your computer will no longer work. This is just a scam and they tried it on my grandson in Tenn. I told him not to talk to them and do not get anything from them. I connected with his computer, and found nothing wrong. Just wanted to say how this gets my gal when idiots call up and get unsuspecting people all upset with their crap.

It gets them every time, they just don't know what to say. They either hang up right away or reply "You don't own a computer?". We say no and they hang up. Its so much fun turning the tables on them. I had a friend fall for it though. I spent the better part of a day restoring her PC back to the factory reset. I managed to save all her documents and pictures. She did smell a rat and eventually figured out what they were up to. Unfortunately not before they got access to her laptop. Lesson learned for her.

I got a call from a bank telling me that I owed such and such on interest on my account. Seeing right through it, I told them (yelled out) that I was well aware of my financial situation and hung up. They proceeded to call right back and insist. Happened like 3 or 4 times, they just wouldn't leave me alone. I was frustrated, to say the least (because they kept calling again and again).

Finally, I turned my phone off and proceeded to the BBQ I was headed to at a family house. As I walked inside, a bunch of smiling faces greeted me and my sister exclaimed, "I hear you owe a bunch on interest on your bank account!"

Jerks.

I get them on a regular basis, it depends how much time I have whether I just tell them I know there are errors, there always will be error messages in Event viewer or just tell them I have a Mac, that last one usually makes them put the phone down quick.

I love winding them up , I usually work from home , so I take a break , sit down and start asking stupid questions.

They ask me to turn on my computer , my response is , 'hold on' <puts phone down for a few minutes> , come back after making a tea , 'I've done that but the TV thing isn't doing anything' , etc etc.....you get the idea.....

Eventually they twig what's going on and most hang up....

My aunt fell for this scam (twice). She's convinced that they are legitimate and she pays them monthly to keep her PC "clean". She's too dumb to have a computer... I have given up on her, she's convinced that she knows more than the rest of us...

I've had a few of them call *me* and I'm the KING of Virus removal. I ask them,. well what Virus do you think I have, Sirefef? Solimba? and they can't answer. Once I made up a name, and they said I had it. Hahaha. What dolts.
