    RIP -- P. F. Sloan

I understand P. F. Sloan passed away in November. He wrote many hits of the 60's, including pop and rock as well as folk and protest songs. His best known song is probably Barry McGuire's hit record, "Eve of Destruction". The biggest outlet for his material was the Turtles, who in fact had "Eve of Destruction" on an album before McGuire did it.

Here's a P. F. Sloan song that didn't get enough airplay to be a hit. It was okay to sing against war in 1965, but it was too early yet for THIS kind of protest.

PPTP server not listening on port 1723
I am having a strange problem with the built-in PPTP server in Windows 8.1. Every time that the machine is started with a cold boot, I can't connect to the VPN. I run netstat -ano, and confirm that it is not listening on TCP port 1723. It is not listed at all, so it doesn't seem to be used by...
