Wow.... when did trying to find factual information become passé?

No, the Xbox isn't always on always connected. This is a false rumor that was killed a month before announcement I think, and was killed again at the reveal. It continues to be killed with more info from Microsoft. It DOES NOT REQUIRE THE SYSTEM TO ALWAYS BE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET. It will however do internet check-ins to probably keep account data up to date, kind of like how Windows has done basically for years.

It will allow used games to be played, and probably won't require an activation fee. This has yet to be said by Microsoft what the policy will be other than this rumor of used games and whatnot being circulated rampantly all over the internet to be idiotic and false.

The Kinect is connected to the system to basically resume from sleep as the Windows core of it now allows it be put to sleep, probably has connected stand by, and the Kinect is there like shaking the mouse or slapping the keyboard to resume Windows except with speech. If the thing is just listening for is, "Xbox, on" then there is literally nothing to put an aluminum hat on for.

The Xbox One is called that because it's an all-in-ONE entertainment device. The Xbox 360 has already known to have logged more hours on non-gaming things like Netflix and IE and ESPN and such than actual gaming. This is a fact, revealed about a year ago. It's called adapting to an evolving market as well as consumer demands as well as beating everyone else out in the living room. Where apple and google and others have failed, Microsoft will probably prevail.

Who in the he'll said anything about it having to always be connected to the internet? Nobody in this thread, other than coke robot who seems to be trying to dismiss comments made by someone else.

That is by FAR the hugest misconception with the Xbox One. Clearing that one up before more misconceptions get passed on second hand by gaming idiots...

I will have to find the quote again, but it was said at an interview after the presentation.

My games want to connect to Xbox, but I haven't got Xbox
I have downloaded some basic games like Solitaire, Mah Jong, and Freecell. Every time I run them, the app tries to communicate with my Xbox. It just happens that I don't own an Xbox. Is there any way I can configure the games so they don't try this rather futile communication?
