What made you pick your screen name?

I'm hoping my name will give somebody the idea to invent a video game called "Dragon Drop." Then I can sue them and make them pay me 90% of the profits from the game. I think it's outrageous that I should have to work for a living.

It's been over a year now, and I'm still waiting. I wish they would invent the game already, so I can retire and relax. They've got some nerve, making me wait so long!

When I joined my first dial-up bulletin board in 1994 I wanted to be wolverine which was my favorite comic book character. But there was already a guy named that so they made me change my name. The name of the dial-up board was called "Anarchy X ", I liked the A and the X so I chose "weAponX" as this was one of wolverine's names.

The only problem was that every teenage kid back in that time, and this was when the Internet was just starting with broadband services- all these kids wanted that name so I had to be the first one to get it everywhere. I pretty much still have it at most of the places that I joined back then, some of them still exist- but lately I just use XweAponX like I do here. So if you see you user on a BBS or board somewhere that has that name and it is not capitalized like that, then it's not me.

Actually, years is one of the more creative names I've seen, I like it. And if you end up suing somebody you can call on me and I'll back you up if I can.

I like "Dragon Drop," that's a pretty clever name.

I think the one handle that I liked the most out of all the years I spent calling bulletin boards was "Young Waffle." That one just sticks with me.

My screen/username IownAmoneyPit relates to any computer I own having paid top dollar originally, then 6 months later on sale for 1/3 the price topped off with hardware upgrades 1 to 2 years later worth at least 1/2 the original cost

I posted the above in a similar thread 2 1/2 years ago and with the addition of another computer and some more hardware upgrades my username continues to maintain it's loyalty with the departing cash flow of my wallet.

I feel that way about Apple computers because when they come out brand-new they are very expensive, and top-of-the-line. But basically after one year they stop supporting the device or the computer that you paid between $800 and $3000 for.

It's not that I don't like Apple stuff or their devices, I love my Apple devices but it just seems that they don't have the respect for their own gear that they insist that you have for it.

Because if they did respect the gear that they make themselves, then they would offer ten-year warranties! Because if you look at their advertising and listen to the way that their representatives speak about their own products, they expect the devices and computers to last 10 years.

And in fact, they do in some cases. I had a little LC-II, it was a little flat miniatures sparc workstation- I liked it, probably made early 90s or so, maybe even late 90s, 1998 or so but it was a great little computer. I got it in 1999 and I used it for a couple of little wordprocessing programs that were in there, and it was fire up every day and work every day until just about a year ago I turned it on and the screen was dark so I don't know if it's just a video card or the whole motherboard fried. Even so, I love that little computer and it lasted a long time what is it 13 years 14 years that's pretty good, and it was useful the whole time.

And even my old PCs all of my windows eight PCs are at least seven years old! But I am getting modern-day functionality out of them, they are just a little slow that's all. But all of my cloud computing programs work very well and mostly I just use them as servers they sit there and I do the work on my iPhone and iPad and they connect right up to my windows eight machines and they do a considerable amount of work.

However I have one original Apple iMac, to gray G4 towers, and one dual G5 titanium tower. I've got 10.3.9 installed on the iMac and one of the G4 towers, but I am running 10.5.8 which is the highest I can get on the titanium tower and the gray G4 dual, one of my gray towers is dual.

So in regard to your screen name I can relate to that with my Apple products because they just can't be updated anymore - each of these things cost about $2-$3000 brand-new and now none of them are worth any more than about $50 which pisses me off because they are museum pieces, The dual G5 tower is 2 GHz with 3 1/2 gig of RAM and is the fastest machine I've ever put my hands on the only problem is it's Motorola and I can't do anything with it unless I can find the software!

I finally found a version of office from around 2004 that works in there pretty well but if you know anybody who has any PPC software I'll buy it from them!
