Looks like there is going to soon be a new console in town to compete with the Xbox, PS3 and Wii. It's cheap too at 99 dollars U.S. Look for it around March of 2013.
OUYA: A New Kind of Video Game Console by OUYA — Kickstarter
Designed primarily for Indie game developers some Big Names are getting in on the act like the folks that brought Call of Duty and the Square Enix company. The new web based first person shooter Combat Offensive will be ported or run through the cloud for this system. http://www.offensivecombat.com/ The company started this project on Kickstarter to raise money for the system and so far has raised over 8.5 million dollars! The console dev team is made up from many professionals in the gaming industry.
This system is Hackable by design - for those who like to hack the consoles, this is 100% encouraged and hacking this puppy will Not void the warranty! This platform is Open Source! How amazing is that?

This project looks really interesting to me. These folks were only asking the Kickstarter community to come up with about 950 thousand dollars and they have passed that by 8 times. They should have plenty enough money to bring this thing to the table and or re-design this first version to make this console even better. Graphics wise this won't look much better than a Wii but for the price, Indie development, Open Source, Hackable and large AAA game devs all wrapped up in this system it will surly be one to keep an eye on.
