My email provider has an adaptive filter that for quite some time did a good job of sending spam to an online folder I never look at unless I suspect something I want ended up there. It reports all the spam headers in an email every night for review.
Suddenly couple of months ago there was no spam reported for several days and very little spam for several weeks. In the last week or two I'm getting a few spam messages a day caught by the filter and 10 or more a day that are not caught. I always go on the web to dump them into the spam folder so, I hope, the filter will get smarter again.
Has anyone else seen this pattern? Perhaps it has to do with a reported shutdown of a big spammer and the way the filter works.
