Well, something that EVERY single tech head fears more than death, hard drive failure.
Today, my 500 gig hard drive has expired, it is a former hard drive, it is gone to be with other dead hard drives, this hard drive is not a hard drive anymore!!
Worst part about this, I had no backup for it, as I had never thought a hard drive would die so soon, only two bloody years! I was going to have a backup soon, like in about a few months. So this makes this even more sucky! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, every curse word in the book ever uttered by mankind. This sucks.
But on the brighter side, I did have all my recent documents and pictures in SkyDrive, and I have all my pictures from my Windows Phone on it. I do have my 16 gig flash drive with music, although my 90 or so gigs aren't there anymore. I think I can pull off some music from my Windows Phone as well.... I have my Microsoft account running, but it seems things aren't syncing over as they should like my IE Start Screen pins. But, I do believe Santa will be getting me a new hard drive for Christmas!
I'm right now using a secondary hard drive that I was using for video content and such, but I deleted some videos to clear some space, partitioned, and reinstalled Windows 8.
Oh Hells Bells right now....
It looks like my lesson here is, use Storage Spaces in Windows 8, backup whatever possible as frequently as possible, and design my new puter case to have lots of hard drives and good cooling.
