Excellent article -- well organized, well-written, based on actual testing results, not a bunch of pro- or anti- Windows 8 hype.

That said, I remember watch a movie entitled My Cousin Vinny, which has scene in which the defense attourney presents such a well though, well-organized objection that the Judge actually compliments him on it -- and Overrulles it, anyway!

I think that pretty much portrays the best treatment of this article will get from the Win8 fanatics here.

I have to say, I'm not a novice, and I can use Windows 8 fluently like 7.

I must be screwing up the curve....

Read this at the beginning of the article. I guess he couldn't find the Desktop. No wonder he didn't like it.

One of the worst aspects of Windows 8 for power users is that the product's very name has become a misnomer. "Windows" no longer supports multiple windows on the screen.

I have no problem with what was reported even if it may make Microsoft look poor which I don't care. They only care about my money and if I can't give them my money they will just ignore me they aren't going to help me out of a tight spot. Anyways my biggest concern was their sample size, I am sorry but a sample size of five? Nielsen Norman Group: UX Research, Training, and Consulting
That's a complete joke, how can I take this site seriously? They also did not specified how they came to their conclusion and what methods they used.
If they are going to claim big things I expect professionalism at it's best!

That's just my take on I will take their "Groundbreaking Research" with a grain of salt.

    Hi Guys
Everything is subjective when it comes to user experience.
I have been using Windows since the 3.0 days and Find Win 8 quite refreshing.
I also use a Samsung Tablet with Android and I can see where MS is going and I think it is good.
I will never go back to Win 7 or Win XP which used to be my OS of choice.
My biggest gripe with Windows as an ex Windows Application programmer is the registry system which replaced the old .ini .
Linux, which I also use seems so much easier to manage if you are into that side of a computer.
    Have a good XMAS
