AT&T Nokia lumia 920 on back order
EDIT: I would like to make clear I am in no way upset with Nokia or AT&T about the back order. I just wanted to share with you all that they are on backlog via the 800#. My local store has some in stock, but I had to go through the 800 # to get the early upgrade. Matter of fact, I think it's great for Nokia to have that kind of success with their product!!!
If anyone is thinking of getting one, you may check local supply first. I upgraded yesterday via the 800 # and was told it could take two weeks for the phone to arrive. I got the Cyan model as it was the only color that they could get that soon. The other colors are a lot longer wait. I emailed Mr. Elop @ Nokia and he confirmed that they are working hard to supply them to handle the back log. Here are the emails (I took out personal info, but these are unedited otherwise) :

Dear Mr. Elop,
I know you are very busy and I won't take much of your time. My wife recently received her White 920 and it is an awesome phone! Great product you have developed here!!! I upgraded my phone with AT&T yesterday (12/04) to the Lumia 920 as well, I was told by the customer support that they were on back order for several months and the system wouldn't allow them to even place an order for any color but the Cyan model (really wanted yellow or red personally, but not a big deal either way), even so the Cyan model was back ordered for up to two weeks. I went ahead and ordered the Cyan model, but my question is, what is the actual timeline for more shipments to arrive at AT&T warehouses? Am I really looking at a two week wait to get my new phone? AT&T has no info to give me on this matter other than it could take up to two weeks to ship. Thank you for your time, and keep up the good work.
Sincerely,
Greg *******

We are working hard to clear backlogs with AT&T … there are indeed real delays. I will ask my team to see if there is anything they can do to help.
Regards,
Stephen

Mr. Elop,
Thank you for taking time to answer my question. I really appreciate that you were able to respond. That answers my question and I will wait the time out, no problem. Really looking forward to getting this phone, as my wife swears by hers and won't let me play with it. Thanks again and keep making such a high demand and great product.
Sincerely

I think it is really awesome and says something about a company when the CEO will take time to answer customer questions! They made a return customer out if me for sure!!!
Geeve
