Bsod happens at random when playing planet side 2. Do not always get the same error code, bad pool caller was the most recent one. Game freezes, audio loops, then bsod and restart. Im also unable to update my video drivers through geforce experience or from nvidia's website. Bsod only happens in planet side, but i do get random crashes to desktop in doom and a few other games.

Hi PuffTheDragon,

Welcome to the 8forums :)

Please follow below suggestions.

warning   Warning
Programs that claim to update your drivers install either the wrong or corrupted drivers.
If you have installed any driver with DriverToolkit, please remove them as it may cause trouble.

An easy way to get remove these drivers is by using a restore point prior the installation.

Diagnostic Test

DRIVER VERIFIER

warning   Warning
Please make a backup of your important files and get your rescue media or create one.
Please create a restore point.

Please follow this tutorial to run driver verifier.

Driver verifier stresses your drivers and will crash your pc if any driver fails due to a violation.

Driver verifier should be performed for a max of 48 hours, or when you have a bluescreen, whatever comes first.

If driver verifier has found a violation and you can't get back into windows normally, try to boot into safe mode and reset in safe mode driver verifier, or in the troubleshooting options open command prompt and type verifier /reset.

Note   Note
Your system will act very sluggishly while driver verifier is enabled, this is normal as your drivers will be being subjected to heavy testing in order to make them crash.

Hello PuffTheDragon.

After viewing the Dump files, I would like to rule out any Possible Ram problems. If you could please use Memtest86+ and run it for at least 8 passes.

Create a bootable CD-ROM:

  1. Download the Windows MemTest86 ISO image.
  2. Right click on the downloaded file and select the "Extract to Here” option. This places the CD-ROM ISO image into the current folder.
  3. Use the CD burning software available on your system to create a CD-ROM using the extracted ISO image. Be sure that you create a CD image from the ISO file rather than placing a copy of the ISO file onto a data CD. Look for “Burn Image from File” or similar option under the File menu of your CD burning software.
Create a bootable USB Flash drive:

  1. Download the Windows MemTest86 USB image.
  2. Right click on the downloaded file and select the "Extract to Here” option. This places the USB image and imaging tool into the current folder.
  3. Run the included imageUSB tool, it should already have the image file selected and you just need to choose which connected USB drive to turn into a bootable drive. Note that this will erase all data on the drive.
