    AMD based system freezing

I am running a Windows 8 RP Build 8400 machine, and it freezes hard a few times a day. It used to be terrible until I completely eliminated the Page Files on my HDDs, and disabled C-States to allow my processor to run at my OCed 3.8 Ghz all the time.

    System Specs
    AMD Phenom II x6 1090t @ 3.8Ghz
    G.Skill Sniper Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-1600 RAM
    GTX 560 1GB
GTX 260 Maxcore 55 (For Dedicated Physx)
    Thermaltake Blackwidow 850w Modular PSU
    1640GB WD Caviar Black HDDs

Now, when the system hard freezes, it seems to always be while web browsing or sitting at the desktop. However, when it freezes, it'll stay motionless for about 5 seconds, and then every single fan in my system will kick up to 100%.

There is zero activity to my HDD light as well.

Are there any more tips/tricks I can do to keep my gaming performance and minimize freezing?

    Win8.1Pro - Finally!!!

Remove Overclock to make sure that that's not the cause.
See this list of issues that are known to cause freezes:

If hard drive lights stay off and the fans kickup - it's either the CPU or the video (with the video being most likely).
Get the latest Win8 drivers from the nVidia website.

This sounds like the disabledynamictick problem - where an interrupt handler expects the clock to be ticking, but finds that it is the same as before, so it goes into a loop - more of a problem in multiprocessor machines, since each processor can handle other things, while cores get tied up in endless loops, everything eventually grinds to a halt. - but no crash and no BSOD report.

Windows 8 and Intel D6700MUD-based (ATOM 6700 CPU) system experience?
I'm getting ready to upgrade several old Pentium4-based Dell desktops with the Intel 6700MUD motherboard and 4GB of RAM. Does anyone out there have any experience with Windows 8 and the Atom 6700 CPU? I know it won't be a speed demon, but it would be much better than an old P4-based box with 2GB of...

System freezing - possible solution!
