Hello everyone,

For a while I've been getting annoying BSoDs, and I thought it's time to try to solve them.
The error I get is: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE , and according to the dumpfile it's "Probably caused by : ntoskrnl.exe ( nt+14e2a0 )"
The full system DUMP (1GB+) from yesterday, gave me the following: "Probably caused by : memory_corruption ( nt!MmTrimAllSystemPagableMemory+1157a )", which I have not seen before so far.

Last time this BSoD happened, was when I tried to put the laptop into hibernate mode. Usually the BSoD happens when I have the following combination of software open: Google Drive, Eclipse, SourceTree, YouTube (Chrome).
For as far as I know, all my drivers are up-to-date, and I regularly check for updates. My laptop is an Asus N751JX. There is a BIOS update, but I'm afraid to update, because last time I did it my laptop got bricked, and I had to send it back. (Asus support told me I should not have updated, unless Asus support told me to do so)

I appreciate all the help in advance. Please let me know if you need more information.

Kind regards,

Seems you have cleaned up your system.
DO NOT cleanup your system while troubleshooting as that removes very important data.
I don't assume you have more files located at %systemroot%\minidump ? (enter %systemroot%\minidump in explorer in the addressbalk)

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.
Ah, I was not aware of that. And yes, CCleaner automatically cleans up my system every now and then. But I assume only the dumpfiles are important, right? I always back those up to my Desktop before CCleaner cleans them. (Although I have removed the old ones, because I didn't think they'd be needed)

I tried Verifier a few days ago, and it would almost instantly BSoD my laptop upon logon. I can try it again, if you can tell me what (dump)files you need exactly.

P.S. There was one big MEMORYDUMP file in %systemroot%, but it was too big to be uploaded here; see original post.

The eventlogs and some other files could contain relevant data too, unfortunately after running Ccleaner unedited in the settings those data are deleted.

I would like some of the most recent dump files.

The memory.dmp file is usually a kernel dump, not necessary as I can't debug it.

I already included the most recent dumpfile in the attached "011816-11765-01.rar" file. Should I run Verifier?

In that dump a graphics driver and network driver has been flagged, but depending on when you updated them last time it might be something more causing the crashes with the assumption that in the other crashes more/other drivers have caused it.

Hi,

Thanks, I'll run Verifier again then, and collect a bunch of dumpfiles to post here.

I have been suspecting the (Intel) network driver for a while now though. Every time a BSoD occurs, I have to completely uninstall the network driver and then reinstall it again, otherwise my wireless internet won't work at all.
This same thing happens on my main PC, which also happens to have an Intel network card...
The thing is that I already have the most recent patch for the network driver.

I should also mention that the laptop HDD is fully encrypted, not sure if that has anything to do with it.
I'll update with more dumpfiles soon. Thanks again!

I just had another BSoD while running the programs mentioned in the opening post. And while posting this reply, I had another one...
I've included both dumpfiles in the attachment of this message.

P.S. I use the Intel "Wireless_PROSet_64" (Version 18.30) driver for my WLAN.

When you want to upload dumps, run the dm log collector and upload the zip created. That is easier for both of us, you only have to upload 1 zip and I have everything necessary :)

Sorry, my bad. Thought the tool was mainly for getting information about computer hardware and updates.
So the dumpfiles I sent are useless? And should I run the tool now? (Although the .dmp files have already been removed from the 'minidump" folder, but I can of course add them to the .ZIP file manually)

Hi again,

Thank you very much.
There is no ASUS bloatware installed, for as far as I know. (I always remove software I don't use)
And also all "up-to-date" drivers from the ASUS website are installed.

Updating the BIOS might fix it, but I'm afraid to do so, since the last time. (When my laptop got bricked, and I had to send it back to ASUS)
Do you think it'll harm if I skip all the versions between 205 and 2010?

I'll try removing PowerISO in the meantime.

Last time I updated it, all boot options disappeared from the BIOS, so there was nothing I could do. (Not even boot from USB)
Should I decrypt my HDD before updating the BIOS?

Hi,

I decrypted the system and then used the Easy Flash Utility in the BIOS to flash it to version 210.
Unfortunately I'm locked out again completely now; so all boot options have disappeared, and I can only boot to the BIOS. How screwed am I?

Not 100% if you somehow can flash the BIOS back to a previous version.

A thing to mention, I would flash the BIOS without the use of any utility even in the BIOS.
