Computer running Windows 8.1 has been BSODing repeatedly, without many dump files written. Sometimes it will crash several times in a row within an hour, others it will go all day without any issue. Only maybe one in twenty BSODs results in a DMP file written. It usually seems to get real weird before crashing: the task bar will disappear, other things might have black bars across them, then BSOD. Dump files that have been written might indicate a hardware issue, but I'm not experienced enough to know what I'm looking at.
The other odd behavior is that sometimes when it restarts it will end up in the BIOS settings, and won't allow an ESC exit, it will only exit on an F10 save and close.
Every once in a while Windows will boot in to the recovery screen, and even attempt repair, but it never seems to find anything to fix, and usually just restarts as normal.
Any help appreciated.
Greg
PS: I'm new here. I think I got the .zip file attached right, but I'm not sure.
