Recently I have upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 and I'm getting alot of different BSOD errors, I have attached the dump files.

Just a bit of history my Windows 7 was working fine until recently when it also starting having BSOD's and upon futher investigation it was found that the copy was not legit. Thinking that the pirate copy was the reason for the problem I upgraded to a legit Windows 8.1 but now it has started happening again.

Please remove MSI Afterburner, it is known for causing BSOD's.

Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPTD pass through remover.

  1. Uninstall Daemon Tools
  2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
    • Double click the executable to open it
    • Click on the button shown below

34700d1440923396-bsod-0x124-whea_uncorrectable_error-nothing-works-a887c9d9e7.png

If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window.

Please run MemTest86+ to test the memory as there is a 0x1A(MEMORY_MANAGEMENT).
If MemTest86+ comes up with zero errors, please run driver verifier.
Some crashes are in most cases caused by drivers, however there are no drivers mentioned.

RAM TEST

Run MemTest86+ to analyse your RAM. MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 7 Forums

Note   Note

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

DRIVER VERIFIER

warning   Warning
Please make a backup of your important files and get your rescue media or create one.
Please create a restore point.

Please follow this tutorial to run driver verifier.

Some windows drivers are blamed in a few crashes, but that usually means that a 3rd party driver is actually the cause.
Driver verifier stresses your drivers and will crash your pc if any driver fails due to a violation.

Driver verifier should be performed for a max of 48 hours, or when you have a bluescreen, whatever comes first.

If driver verifier has found a violation and you can't get back into windows normally, try to boot into safe mode and reset in safe mode driver verifier, or in the troubleshooting options open command prompt and type verifier /reset.

Note   Note
Your system will act very sluggishly while driver verifier is enabled, this is normal as your drivers will be being subjected to heavy testing in order to make them crash.

I did the test and it it came up with a lot of errors, will remove one of my 2 ram sticks and test again to see which is the bad one. Would that bad ram be responsible for all the other errors as well (all the errors other than memory management)?

It could yes, a lot of errors are generally caused by problem drivers.
It could be that these problem drivers are giving problems due to what they are trying with the memory. (read data or write data to the memory)
Both read and write actions have 2 scenario's.

  • Accessing corrupted data / address
  • Accessing the wrong data / address
