Black Screen after Ransomware Ad was shown

I did have the command prompt and the registry opened up but what do I do next? How do I run the dm_log if I can't see my desktop? Please help?

Welcome to the 8forums.

In command prompt use the "cd C:\users\{username}\desktop" command to go to the folder of the desktop.
Type "dir" to get a list of everything in the desktop.
When you find the file you want to run type the command "dir {filename}.exe" and press enter to run it.
When the tool is finished, type the command "copy {filename} {location where you want to copy it to}"

I attached the dm_log. I saw a boot (x drve when I went through notepad via command prompt. Thank you for your help.

I did not mean to make a smiley with the last reply the : and the ) were part of the command I saw on the X drive that has been added to my PC. Lol!

Is it converted to text somehow?
The dm log collector should create a zip file with at least 21 files, 19 text, 1 msinfo32 and 1 (or more) dump files.

Yes this is all I could get, I was following along on another tutorial and here's what I have discovered, I have 4 new partitions added to my PC in which four are hidden. Is there any way that I can make disks C and D readable again and get rid of the other four volumes that are hidden?

I am unable to use disks C & D so I could not go to my desktop only the Boot X: disk is usable now and has created 4 new hidden partitions with it. I selected partition 1 and it says it is not a fixed MBR disk.

The 4 new hidden partitions have the lable WINRE the are all NTFS except the second one which is FAT32. All disks say healthy just the last 4 are hidden. The sixth one is a D RECOVERY the same as Volume 2. If this helps at all.

This kind of infection is very difficult - impossible to fight.

The best thing I recommend is using a backup of your stuff to get everything back.
Or backup personal files and clean install.

This infection is still kinda new, I know Bitdefender Total Security 2016 has this protection, but I haven't checked other AV's yet.
