Welcome to the 8forums.

1 of the crashes is caused by ATI Video driver, please remove the Catalyst Control Center and only install the Display Driver.

I could not locate the ATI catalyst control center so i reinstalled it and then removed the program entirely. the computer was constantly stating that windows has encountered a problem and needs to restart so i disabled the system failure automatic restart and things now seem to be stable(for now). i tried to download the driver from HP but they only support up to windows 7. tried to update the driver and it says everything is up to date. do you think there is anything else causing this computer to crash, besides the video driver?

Test each stick in different slots.

This to determine if it is truly the stick or the slot.

tested each individual memory stick in each slot separately and they passed every time. tested all three memory sticks together randomly switching slots and sometimes would get a failure but i'm unable to reproduce the failure not sure if its a stick or slot.

You have run memtest for each stick for at least 8 passes in such a short time?

I finally got memtest to work, each memory stick would pass but if i install more than 1 stick of memory (2GB DDR3 each) my computer will crash. i did some research and found that i had inadvertently installed the 32 bit version of win 8 pro, according to HP memory upgrade information a pc running a 32bit system cannot run a full 4GB of memory and i have been trying to run 6GB. currently i have upgraded to free version of win 10 pro but unfortunately its still a 32 bit system so i can only run 2GB but i have no more BSOD events. plan on going back to a 64 bit system soon so that i can run more memory.
