Unplugged notebook from power and BSOD stopped?

Hi all,

I'm writing on battery power now, and computer is working fine. For some reason, it started BSOD after I plugged it in last time. I kept restarting plugged in, tried removing latest app updates via safe mode, but it would always crash when I went back to normal startup to welcome screen.

Then I unplugged the power, and it booted fine while on battery. FYI, I'm using a Lenovo Thinkpad T450S, so the power port is also a usb port. I'm now guessing this usb/power feature from Lenovo is the culprit, but hopefully the dumps can shed some light.

Thanks in advance,

Ed

Hi edwardotis,

Welcome to 8forums.

I'm currently analysing your dump files.
Unfortunately the error you had the most, kernel_security_check_failure(0x139), is one that is hard to solve because a driver asks to free time at another time then the error, my short description of the meaning of this error ;)

A few possible solutions
- Open admin command prompt and type sfc/scannow, this checks if any windows file is corrupted.
If there are corrupt files found, please upload the cbs.log and the dism.log found in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS and C:\Windows\Logs\DISM (Change C if your OS has another letter)
- Scan your pc for viruses.
- Run driver verifier, this is a tutorial from sevenforums for windows 7, but its almost the same for windows 8.

Please update or reinstall following driver because it has been flagged with the other error you had. This could also solve the kernel security error.
Code:
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for [COLOR=#ff0000]Netwbw02.sys [/COLOR]
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for Netwbw02.sys
