thanks. I did get to the bios menu and couldn't locate the CPU settings. I literally went over every option - there wasn't any CPU options there.

Please advise.

The only option to overclock your CPU is in the BIOS.

I don't feel it's a responsible thing to do. what if Lenovo set it up this way so that the computer works right?

Thats something I doubt, because a computer should work properly without overclocking.
If you're computer won't crash while overclocking (if its set to overclock, what I doubt right now), than its not a problem.
