Intermittent BSOD, NTFS.sys

Hello,

I purchased a Lenovo T450s 3 months, ago, and swapped out the HDD for an SSD and added in a RAM stick then.
Things were fine until 1 month ago, until I started getting intermittent BSODs. Typically one would occur every few days, and they would occur more frequently if I went for awhile without a proper shutdown.

I've tried different ways to troubleshoot, check disk didn't identify anything, sfc scan found corrupt files but could not repair, and minidumps point to the NTFS.sys. Memtest86+ tests passed multiple runs.

I've attached the logs generated as per forum instructions, and have also added the CBS.log from my sfc scan. I hope you guys can help me.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply.

I've had a few more crashes since this post. On the frequency of around once a week. I've tried doing sfc \scannow as well as using CCleaner to clean up the registry. It's hard to say what worked and what didn't, as it's hard to reproduce, and even using driver verifier doesn't immediately force a crash.

Hi infiniti ^_^,

The dump files in the ZIP files uploaded by you are old. Once you experience another BSOD, please re-run the diagnostic utility and then upload the ZIP file with your next post.

Till the time, I would suggest you to disable Driver Verifier by typing the below command in an admin command prompt -
Code:
verifier /reset

If the Driver Verifier does not immediately detect the problem, there is a chance that this might be a hardware problem.

Let me know how it goes ^_^

Hi infiniti,

Did you experience another crash?
I checked your dump files and they did not reveal very useful information. Although I see loads of errors (Including Windows Update Errors). I also see that applications are crashing.

Could you please follow the below Hard Drive Diagnostics (Thanks usasma!) and report back the results?

Hello,

Thanks for replying, I've encountered a new crash. I've attached the newly generated logs here.View attachment 64975
I have the Samsung Pro 850 512 Gb, so should I be using the magician software to run a performance test?

Thanks.

EDIT: Used CrystalDisk, and things seem to be okay?

It is a pain to see that message for us BSOD Helpers :(

I suggested you to run the Hard Drive Diagnostics in my previous reply. May I know the results? Also, there are some diagnostics over at Lenovo support. Kindly run them and report back -

Hey,

Thanks for your reply. I ran both the hard drive diagnostic and the lenovo tests. Everything passed. I'm starting to think it may be a driver?

Thanks!

EDIT: I went through the lenovo log, and this was the message for the SMART status test:
Critical: Cannot enable SMART
