Im facing "Unexpected kernel mode trap BSOD" during windows update. I came to know that reason for this issue is, bsnl evdo usb modem driver "UE 100 1xEVDO USB modem" (Prithvi bsnl cdma evdo usb modem). But I cannot find latest driver for this driver. Every place the same version driver is available for download. Is any body found solution/(latest driver) for this issue?. Is there any alternative?

I have attached minicrash dump in this url,
http://www.mediafire.com/download/f9xg6kb4egwb644/dell-dump.zip

I have attached screen shot of driver details.

I was having the same issue.

http://www.eightforums.com/bsod-cra...wdf01000-sys-unexpected-kernel-mode-trap.html

There is nothing you can do about it except uninstalling the "BSNL connection manager". BSNL/prithvi will likely never release an update for the driver. I found that if you try to restart/start your PC with the modem connected, then you will face the issue, either while turning the computer on, or while working in it.

I suggest that you start the computer first, after having access to the metro menu/desktop, plug in the modem.

Actually, this modem is faulty. Frequently disconnects when data speed increases, overheats quickly, etc.

Anyway, try the above method. If it doesn't work then let me know. I think I may be able to provide you an alternative software.

Thanks for your reply. I have followed steps suggested by you. But I cannot resolve this issue. Im facing issue when working on my laptop. Also I have tried many options(Run Bsnl connection manager using compatibility mode, etc) but issue is not yet fixed.

I dont have some other internet option, so I need to use BSNL connection manager. For that please provide me alternate software to access internet using bsnl prithvi usb modem. Also please provide me steps to use that software.

Thanks in advance.

before you do anything, click properties on each of the exe file and set the compatibility mode to windows xp service pack 3. these files are InstallRes, Modem_installation, & ShowModem.

start the installation by double clicking on ShowModem only. Restart after installing ShowModem.
after that, open MMX310 Usb Manager through shortcut from the desktop. Tell me what do you see.

@Avil172,

I have followed instructions given by you. But in
MMX310 Usb Manager I can see "No device" message only. I cannot connect to internet using MMX310 Usb Manager.

Steps I have followed:
1. I have set
compatibility mode to windows xp service pack 3 for all the three executables.
2. I have installed application using
ShowModem.
3. Restarted laptop
Note: I have tried without (by uninstalling)
BSNL connection manager as well as, with BSNL connection manager installed in my laptop.

Please let me know what I have missed.

Thanks in advance.

please install bsnl connection manager again. you shouldn't have uninstalled it. i hope you didn't get any bsods during the process.

first , make sure bsnl connection manager is not running(it should be installed, but shouldn't be running). exit bsnl connection manager and go to the taskbar. terminate BGservice.exe

1- when you get the no device error, close the mmx310 manager(MM) from system tray and make sure its not running.
2- reopen it. it should show you signal... if it doesn't follow the process below while MM is still running..

1- go to c>program files(x86)>mmx 310c manager>driver>win7_x64.
2- right click on the first file and install, right click on the second file and install.

you should see the tower now.

@Avil172,

I have followed instructions given by you. But no luck, my device has not been detected in MMX 310 USB Manager.

When I finish install it gives me No device error, Also during MMX installation I noticed that driver installation failed. so I have followed alternate steps given by you. I have closed BSNL connection Manager and BGService.exe.

Then I have installed
cmnsmdm.inf, cmnsser.inf two files using right click install option.(files are located in c>program files(x86)>mmx 310c manager>driver>win7_x64.) I got alert message as "The operation completed successfully".

Now I have opened MMX USB Manager, still I got "No device" error only.

Please help me to resolve this.

Thanks in advance,
mrprabu

if the methods didn't work, then unfortunately nothing can be done except buying the mmx310C modem. it supports all evdo sims such as bsnl, idea, reliance etc. has a very good antenna support too. it costs about Rs 989 and is available in snapdeal and flipkart.

Thanks for your reply Avil172.

When I buy prithvi I have asked to BSNL staffs that Micromax, they told me that Micromax modem is not available. So only I got prithvi.

But when I buy from snapdeal/flipkart, whether will i get same speed as prithvi? because I have unlocked tata photon plus cdma modem and I have used bsnl sim in it. But I got 1x speed only, Im not able to get EVDO speed. I think there is some crl file needs to be configured in modem to get EVDO speed.

Whether you bought Micromax modem from online and using with bsnl evdo sim?

i can't say anything about tata photon modem because i have never used it before, but there should be an option in the modem that will let you choose between EVDO and 1x. If you have selected EVDO network, then you should get EVDO speed, else it could be a network or server side issue.

MMX310C modem is more stable, it has better in-built antenna and it doesn't cause BSOD at all. It stays connected all the time without getting disconnected. That's how its better than prithvi. With 4-5 towers you should get ~50KBps in MMX310C if you use EVDO network. But I read many reports on the internet about people saying that they got better speed/worse speed with this modem as compared to prithvi.

So I can't really say if you will get a speed increase or not, but I am sure that this will resolve the BSOD issue, and from my experience, speed will not go down.
