DPC_Watchdog_violation needs fixing in Win 8.1 64bit

Hi! I have windows 8.1 64bit in SONY VIAO CS series laptop for over 3 4 months now. It was working fine until 2 days ago, it showed me a DPC_WatchDog_Violation BSOD after a night before i unplugged my external hard drive( WD Elements, driver installed) in between my computer was "Updating and shutdown" and then next morning it showed the blue screen and freezes on logging in. I chose system restore point in advanced repair options and it worked. but then again today i get the watchdog violation error again, and PC is slowing down too.
No, i dont play games but yes i have heavy ADOBE software i work on. and also, i dont have any external antivirus installed, just used windows defender cause i believe in it *winks*
Also, in my device manager, it shows me that base system device driver is not installed. i searched but cant find a specific reason or solution to it too. windows updates are installed as well.
