Hi all, I've been having some issues with my new alienware 13. Whats been going on from the get-go is when I update the nvidia drivers, the screen flashes back (like normal) but doesn't come back on forcing me to restart which is abnormal and never happened on my XPS 15 also with an nvidia card. I'm assuming that issue is related to the BSOD I got today since I did run a driver update. FYI the machine is basically untouched as far as tinkering is concerned- I am currently running a malwarebytes scan and I will also run a checkdisk once that is done. Any help is appreciated.

Your UEFI/BIOS dates from 2014. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system.

Then go to the manufacturer's website and update all the Killer Network Manager and Killer network card stuff that is there. Earlier versions of the Killer Network Manager were prone to BSOD's, and you have an earlier version of the Killer drivers on your system.

While at the manufacturer's website, update the rest of the drivers there also (if uncertain if the drivers need updated - update them anyway, just to be sure).

If you are manually overclocking, please return the system to it's normal state. If not overclocking, then the Intel Turbo Boost is causing the overclock - and this should not be a cause for concern at this time.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Thanks everyone. I updated everything I could find including the killer networking suite, and I also uninstalled the nVidia drivers and ran a registry cleaner prior to re-installing in the event of bad keys. So far it's working fine and I've noticed the occasional stuttering in Skyrim hasn't been present

Don't run the registry cleaner very often, I've found that repeatedly running them can cause registry problems that can't be fixed.

We use a registry cleaner at work, but only run them once or twice on systems that have been infected. I don't run them on systems that have been restored or are new out of the box systems. We've been doing this since the Win7 days and I haven't seen any issues with it.
