First of all, I am new here, so please do not jump down my throat if I do something wrong at first.

I have a Dell Inspirion 3531 with Windows 8.1. Windows 8.1 came installed on the laptop. I have had this computer for about 5 months, and ever since I got the laptop I have been getting what you all call the "BSOD" that says WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR. Now, I know absolutely nothing about computers or how they work. Most of the solutions I have come across have been more frustrating than helpful because I have no idea what a motherboard is or what the bios are or anything like that. I'm hoping someone on here can give me an extremely dumbed down, step-by-step way to fix this issue.

The first time my laptop crashed was while I was watching Netflix. I was using the Netflix app I downloaded on the computer and I didn't really think anything of it. Then, this started happening more frequently and at the most inconvenient times, such as watching Netflix or doing homework. I called Dell and they didn't find any viruses on my laptop, but they did a factory reset. My laptop still crashed.

About a month ago I had one of my stepdad's friends look at my laptop to see if he could fix it. He didn't find any viruses or anything. One thing he did notice was that my laptop took awhile to start up and when it did (usually after crashing) it would have Windows updates. I changed the settings so I would have to update it manually thinking that would help, but it didn't. We refreshed the PC, we ran every single diagnostics test you can on the thing and it is still crashing. I believe the antivirus my stepdad's friend installed is Malwarebytes anti Malware. We thought the issue may be from the Netflix app, so I uninstalled that and started using Chrome instead, but the issue still persists.

I know someone will ask, so here is exactly what happens when my laptop crashes:

While watching Netflix, the audio will start making some strange, loud, obnoxious noise that buzzes really loud. My laptop freezes, and the BSOD appears. My laptop restarts, and usually I go right back to what I'm doing. Sometimes it will crash again after about 5 minutes, sometimes it will crash after about 30 or 45. This happens daily and not just when I'm watching Netflix. It happens when I'm just on the internet or using Word. The laptop freezes and crashes.

Like I said before, I know NOTHING about computers. If you have a solution to this issue, please tell me what it is in such a way that a 3 year old could fix my laptop.

Here is more information on the laptop:

Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU N3530 @ 2.61 GHz
Installed RAM: 4.00 GB
System Type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Not a touchscreen.

Sorry for the delay in responding. There just aren't that many people who do BSOD analysis, so at times we get a bit overwhelmed!

Do you still need help with this problem?
