BSOD playing Games, Error 4e, PFN_LIST_CORRUPT

Hi there,

i hope u can help me with my problem. I got random BSODs while playing games. First i thought of failing hardware, but i did some testing (memtest, dell diagnostics, prime95, furmark, etc) and all finished without having a bluescreen or some other strange behavior..
So i did a clean install of Win8.1 and newest drivers, but the BSODs happened again. I must say i use kind of an unique system configuration and i still have in mind that it could have something todo with that.

System:
Alienware 15 Notebook
i7 4710HQ
GTX970m (with Amplifier GTX980)
16GB RAM (Kingston)
250GB m.2 SSD
1 TB HDD

i tried also to debug the memorydump with Windbg64. It points to a module named nt, which i think must be ntosknl.exe (i know its like john doe...)

i really appreciate your work and i am very thankful for ur help

Hi Raiden87 ^_^,

And I am back with the analysis which I know took long time. I have analysed the dump files below and a summary has been provided for informative purposes :-

PFN_LIST_CORRUPT (4e)
Typically caused by drivers passing bad memory descriptor lists (ie: calling MmUnlockPages twice with the same list, etc). If a kernel debugger is available get the stack trace.
Code:
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000099, A PTE or PFN is corrupt
Arg2: 00000000001b4f4b, page frame number
Arg3: 0000000000000002, current page state
Arg4: 040001b0001b4d0e, 0
According to the above information, it seems that a PTE (Page Table Entry) or the PFN (Page Frame Number) are corrupt. This is frequently caused by drivers passing bad memory addresses or in the case of a hardware fault (Typically RAM). More information is provided about this bugcheck in the below link in case you wish to read -
Mike's Technology and Finance Blog: Troubleshooting 0x4E PFN_LIST_CORRUPT

Sadly, the stack does not contain any useful information. Below is a list of 3rd party drivers present on your system -

Kindly perform the below steps -

  1. Kindly remove Intel Rapid Storage as of now since it is known to cause problems and it is not required for home use (Unless you are running a RAID configuration). Kindly follow this wonderful **GUIDE** written by Patrick.
  2. Kindly update the drivers from this **LINK**. Make sure that the product displayed is the one you are using :)
  3. If you are still facing problems, kindly turn on Driver Verifier using this **GUIDE** so that we could catch the offending driver (If any).

Let me know how it goes ^_^
