Solved BSOD When downloading from Battle.net

Hello,

Whenever I am downloading from battle.net (or at least that's the only time it's happened so far) after a random amount of time I will get a BSOD referencing "Page_Fault_In_Nonpaged_Area"

I've attached the log from my computer. If any additional information is required please let me know.

Thank you

You're missing reports in the WER section of MSINFO32. If using a disk cleaning program (such as CCleaner), please stop while we're troubleshooting. The reports are needed.

Make sure that Plex Media Server is fully updated. In the past we've seen issues with older versions.

AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center. This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems.
NOTE: these symptoms were from the previous release of OverDrive. The new release uses the same driver name, but is dated from 4 November 2013.
Please un-install all AMD/ATI video stuff from Control Panel...Programs...Un-install a program
Then, download (but DO NOT install) a fresh copy of the ATI drivers from Global Provider of Innovative Graphics, Processors and Media Solutions | AMD (in the upper right corner of the page)
Use this procedure to install the DRIVER ONLY: ATI video cards - DRIVER ONLY installation procedure - Sysnative Forums

If the device (AODDriver or AODDriver4.01) remains a problem, open Device Manager, select the "View" item.
Then select "Show hidden devices" and scroll down to the Non-Plug and Play Drivers section.
Locate the AODDriver entry, right click on it and select "Un-install". Reboot for changes to take affect.
Sometimes the driver remains and continues to cause BSOD's. If this is the case for you, post back and we'll give further instructions for safely removing it.

If overclocking, please stop. Remove the overclock and return the system to stock/standard values while we're troubleshooting. Once the system is stable again, feel free to resume the overclocking.

The last 2 memory dumps blame NNSStrm.sys - a driver related to your Panda antivirus.
In most cases this is a corruption of the Panda drivers, but it can also be caused by malware.
So, first scan the system with another program (such as MalwareBytes - but ensure that it's fully updated).
Then uninstall the Panda - and be sure to enable Windows Defender and the Windows Firewall so that you're protected
And see if that stops the BSOD's

Please post back and let us know how it works

Thanks for the response. I had already run Malwarebytes on the machine earlier this week when the problem started and was unable to find anything.

I uninstalled Panda Anti Virus and then started up Battle.net and started downloading again and let it run for about an hour and didn't experience any more BSOD. Usually it would crash within fifteen minutes. I will continue to monitor the computer but it seems as if Panda was causing the BSOD.

Any thoughts on why Panda would be causing the crash only when downloading from the application? Also, should I look into another Anti Virus, or is Windows Defender used with Windows Firewall sufficient enough protection?

Thanks

I prefer Windows Defender and the Windows Firewall as it has served me well over the years.T
That being said, my internet behavior is unlike most people's, so my experience may not be similar to yours.

I'd test a bit longer with Windows Defender and the Windows Firewall,
Then, if you so desire, try installing a new copy of the Panda program and see if the BSOD's return.

There are many, many different possibilites as to why this is happening.
It could be a corruption of your current Panda install
It could be a bug in your current Panda install
It could be a conflict between Panda and Battle.net
Or it could be a problem with Battle.net (and maybe Panda is blameless)
Or there could be other items influencing how Battle.net and Panda are interacting.

Good luck!
