Hi everyone,
Hope to find help here regarding a laptop running on Windows 7 but is currently stuck in a cycle of restarting in Windows 8 (on VHD). Yup stuck because there's no way I can get back to my Windows 7... because it keeps loading up Win 8 and keep getting error. Here's the story:
Installed Windows 8 Consumer preview using VHD (via Powershell)
But loads up to show an error:
Your computer ran into a problem and needs to restart....
... VHD_BOOT_INITIALIZATION_FAILED
It's collecting error info and will restart in ___ second...
It counts down to restart
Upon restart, it shows the fish loading - right below it says "Preparing automatic repair"
Then after, it shows "Choose your keyboard layout" and displays list of languages/country. I choose US.
Finally it displays "Choose an option" giving me only these following option:
Troubleshoot
Turn off your PC
Apparently, it doesn't even give me an option to Continue to the consumer preview...
I have no idea what else to do with Troubleshoot because under that option, there's only Refresh, Reset, Advance... Refresh yields nothing (unsuccessful), Reset is what I avoid because it says it will delete files and such, Advance (it's just too advanced)...
Therefore, the only option is to Turn Off Your PC ... which only turns off PC.
When it's restarted same cycle happens and Im stuck with buggy Win 8 installation
-----
I tried troubleshooting by:
1. Going to Troubleshoot > Advance Options > Command Prompt
2. Here I tried to execute bcdedit to change default boot to my Windows 73. Nope, there is no bcdedit
Please help me! I don't know how to go back to my Windows 7 ... so i can get rid of this VHD.
Thanks so much in advance!
