I have a Dell XPS 8700, and BSODs occur almost on a daily basis.

The most recent one was 0x000000D1, with the netwew00.sys driver being supposed culpirt. But everyday it's a new BSOD and a different apparent cause.

I was in contact with Dell Support and they assured me it was all software related, but I'm not sure at this point. If it is truly software, I can persist and eventually get it sorted. But if not I want to try to get an exchange, as I believe it's still under warranty.

Thanks for the help in advance.

I updated the wireless drivers as suggested and just uninstalled the Cyberlink. I just had another BSOD which I think might be caused by the graphics card driver? However, I just re-installed uptodate drivers last week, so I'm not certain.

Hello again.

Installed an older version of Nvidia drivers. System was stable for a few days, but crash again today.

Thanks.

Edit:

Looks like the crash was caused by wireless driver I updated previously. Would a re-install of the OS be helpful at this point?

I installed the wireless driver from the link provided, however another bsod.

View attachment 58569

Also, it seems 19 out of 20 of the bsod occur overnight for me, 0130-0400, while the system is idle or perhaps I have a utorrent running. Is there some process that Windows runs at such times that would produce theses crashes?

Thanks.

Again it's your wi-fi drivers. What software related to the network are you running in the background? Try quitting utorrent. What AV are you using? Are you using a VPN of some sort? Vmware? FW?

The only network software I am aware of is the Intel Wifi stuff.

AV: Windows Defender

No VPN, VMware

I don't know what FW references.

I wil leave system on overnight without utorrent running for a few nights and see if it makes a difference. I don't always have it running so I'm not sure this is a problem.

Would an older verison of the wifi drivers be useful to try?

Yes, try it. But make sure it's compatible with w8.1
FW stands for firewall.

Oh lol, just the standard Win8 Firewall.

I'll try to find older wireless drivers and give them a shot.

I've read that that's known to help. There is a discussion over at Intel forum about these issues.

Instead of different intel wireless driver's( wasnt sure what to use), I disabled intel wireless and used a Wireless USB Adapter I had. This worked for a couple days, however, there was a new BSOD today.

Again. Network driver seems to be the cause. Please download an older version of Intel drivers and use them to test. Does the issue occur when coming from sleep?

Found Intel wifi drivers thought were doing the trick. About a week went bye and no crashes, was even going to post resolved this coming weekend. Must have jinxed it because another bsod this morning. Does not occur coming out of sleep/hibernate.

Turn off Driver Verifier type verifier.exe in the search box and select Delete existing settings. Then hit OK. Monitor your PC for further crashes.
This one was not caused by Intel. Intel is fine.

Driver verifier off, settings deleted. Restarted pc.

Run SFC and Disk Check. Please test your HDD with HD Tune and take a SS of Health and Error Scan (not Quick) tabs when complete.
