i'm new to these forum style help so please bear with me, i'll provide what ever information your software did not get.

i'll outline the common faults/happenings
  • BSOD code Driver Power State Failure
  • audio static and rarely high pitch squeal (i've removed the built in speaker because i couldn't tolerate it anymore, could be temporarily fixed by tapping the surface area but it can cause a freeze/BSOD or no audio output 50/50 chance whether lucky or not)
  • visual on screen fails to properly display(haven't tested if it still happens when i use the vga output yet but will next time)
  • laptop freezes (can only be fixed by holding power button to power off, then normal startup, or if lucky a light tap above the harddrive)
  • Caps lock and num lock lights flash, 5 times)
  • sound drive fails to load(i get a notification when the desktop has fully loaded icons and tiles)
  • videos will speed up, audio included
  • USB ports will not recognise devices, 10101 serial port(with 2 adpaters serial > ps/2 > USB) pushes out too much power for usb devices) My USB devices are Nokia 520 cellphone, WD external HD, USB mini camera.

My computer habits
  • always on it everyday
  • i use Google Chrome(with extensions)
  • i use facebook a lot just to play games and watch videos
  • i also use youtube a lot as well as anime streaming sites
  • i leave the power cord in and turned on at wall, even when going to sleep

i think that is basically it. I hope that it is something that can be fixed through software changes.

UPDATE: Screen now fails to respond, i suspect the display inverter as it has felt warm there and that only the display isnt working at all now, i am now using the VGA port and so far it is running ok thought it still fails to recognise USB devices.

Please help, should i just throw this laptop off a cliff and get a new one in the distant future or can i fix this.

Hi Kaboose79 & Welcome to the forums ^_^,

I am really sorry for the delay in response. Life is very busy for everyone in the BSOD section :(

The ZIP file uploaded by you is Empty. Kindly follow the instructions again and re-upload the freshly generated Diagnostic ZIP file. Also, kindly do not touch any components of the system, since it is very dangerous. Did you try removing the Graphics Card and using the inbuilt graphics processing unit?

Let me know how it goes ^_^

i believe the graphics card is inbuilt on this laptop motherboard, i think i will stay away with the soldering iron.
As i said the VGA port works so i believe it may be in the screen itself(well one fault is). is the anyway to test and determine where the inbuilt devices are and arent connecting right?

here is a new file, if this doesnt work then i may need idiot instructions .-.

It should contain dump files. Look for them in Windows/ Minidump directory and diagnoostics like your startup items, services, dxdiag report, systeminfo, startup items...

So, it seems that there was a problem in transferring the data/signals from the BUS to the CPU. This is generally the sign of a failing motherboard. Add to the fact that the other dump files are blaming the Bluetooth driver. Also, the issues you are facing are a sign of a failing motherboard.

I would suggest you to send the laptop to HP and have it checked. Furthermore, the BIOS date is extremely old (2009). Did you face these problems in Windows 7 as well?

Let us know how it goes ^_^.

to get it to HP i will have to spend $50 - $80, to replace motherboard around $400 - $500 depending on the model.
my income $0, my money $54.75
i am better off buying a new one from the warehouse.
(estimate prices from Jonko employee which is where i brought it, we dont have a HP store here)

Well that's surely costly. If you are satisfied with the solution, kindly mark this thread as solved :)

I hope you get a new system soon because I have a fair idea how much frustration is involved with a system like this :)
