Welcome,

Can't hurt to run this command from an elevated prompt:

sfc /scannow

If you require further help, attach the zip of the crash log collector found in the top thread of this subforum.

As far as the Internet Explorer not working. Windows 8 only comes IE 10. I would uninstall IE 9.

Just for saying.. I think there is a problem with your installation..

As GMan said, first try the system file checker.

If you don't have enough data on Windows 8, format the partition and reinstall Windows 8.

Hope this helps :)

It's awesome when people solve their own issues in their own post.

After removal in safe mode with its removal tool, boot to normal modem type services.msc in the Start menu and press Enter.

Set Windows Firewall and Windows Defender services to Auto and start them too.

I have the same problem these days.

I'm running AVAST, and it was reliable many years. Now I had to add TaskMgr.exe to the sandbox exceptions of Avast. Unfortunately the trouble is very related, read sensitive, to this antivirus. I do have the similar problem with WLMail.exe, that I add now to the sandbox exceptions. maybe I disable the sandbox at all when this issue continues, or drop Avast in favor of Windows Defender.

I hope this post is useful.
