As the title, my laptop which run Windows 7 perfectly without any problem just keeps freezing when running Windows 8 CP. As I need to do some Windows 8 app development, I hope if anyone here could help me solving the problem. Go back to Windows 7 is not a solution so here the log file. :)

Update: "bcdedit /set disabledynamictick yes" in command prompt fixed the problem. :D

Hi,

Uninstall Teamviewer.

Update ATK and all other ASUS files if updates are available from ASUS' website.

That should take care of things. If not, try uninstalling Amicosinglun, whatever that is, I dunno.

Hi, I downloaded newest ATK stuff and other driver. About Amicosinglun, it's card reader driver. But the laptop freezes even when I didn't install anything, just pure Windows :(

Alright...and did you uninstall Teamviewer then reboot? If so, how is it now?

I think it is driver related issue since it freeze even when I didn't install anything(including Teamviewer).

That doesn't answer the question in any way at all.

You're welcome to post a new run of the tool after my advice has been followed and if the issue is still present.

Cool....basically what I'm saying is don't make the issue mine or for anyone else until you are sure it still exists after applying the already given advice.

For all I know, it is already fixed and you're still requesting help unnecessary. Likely, this is the case. If not, as I said, please post the new zip if/when the issue occurs again.

You created the thread before I've given any advice at all, so you could not have possibly followed the advice in any way at that time.

You're welcome.

Install the Realtek HD Audio Codec driver on the right side of the link:

Code:
Name High Definition Audio Device
Manufacturer Microsoft
Status OK
PNP Device ID HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0662&SUBSYS_104316F3&REV_1001\4&3152CA26&0&0001

Realtek

and install the proprietary driver for the Elantech touchpad:

Code:
Hardware Type ELAN PS/2 Port Smart-Pad
Number of Buttons 0
Status OK
PNP Device ID ACPI\ETD0001\4&138BAA18&0
Power Management Supported No
Double Click Threshold Not Available
Handedness Not Available
IRQ Channel IRQ 12

Should be alright after those two things. Would uninstall this if needed:

Code:
vmm Virtual Machine Monitor \??\c:\windows\system32\drivers\vmm.sys Kernel Driver Yes System Running OK Normal No Yes

I'm downloading Realtek driver, but seem can't find a better driver for the Elantech touchpad. It's the driver I downloaded from ASUS. Could you help me on it?
And about vmm.sys, I think vmm is part of Windows as I didn't any virtualization software.
vmm.sys - What is the vmm.sys ?

To both of you:

You can force a bsod on purpose by following this:

Force a BSOD

Then run the tool found in the top most thread of this subforum and its linked thread. Make the zip it shows then attach it here.

I can see all the drivers on the system accurately this way, which should prove very helpful.
