Probable Memory Leak. System always runs out of memory

Hello all. New member here. I have had an issue with my PC since I "upgraded" to windows 8.1 earlier this year that is driving me batty. Unfortunately, I upgraded the hardware (motherboard, CPU, and RAM) at the same time, so I can't rule out a hardware issue completely. The issue stuck around despite a total hard disk wipe and reinstall from scratch.

I'm a relative noob as far as this sort of troubleshooting, and I'm really not sure how to proceed. My normal modus operandi has been to simply wipe and start over if I ran into serious enough issues, but that did not work this time. Months of google searches have not really yielded any progress, so I thought it could not hurt to ask here.

So the problem. Basically, the longer the system runs, the more memory it uses. Eventually it freezes up, and itf you let it alone long enough after this starts, it will finally reboot itself. Doing anything intensive hastens the process of memory drain, basically the harder it works, the faster it happens. If I am using the PC hard, it only takes a couple hours to burn through all 1 GB. If I am away for days with nothing but background processes running, it takes a few days, but it eventually crashes and reboots.

The only thing that might be slightly out of the ordinary for most users is the fact that I use the PC as my TV and DVR through Windows Media Center and the use of a Silicondust HD Homerun Prime cablecard tuner. Other than that, it's pretty basic stuff on my PC. I don't do any gaming these days, and usually the hardest workout the machine gets is downloading large files like movies. I will try to attach a few snapshots of task manager etc, as I gather you folks can make more sense of them than I can. If you need anything else, please do not hesitate to ask. I am sick of rebooting my PC all the time to avoid crashes. Any and all help would be sincerely appreciated.

Alan

Sorry I missed that one. Was not really sure which ones you guys would need. The situation is slightly different this time than before, as I had to reboot the machine after I took those snapshots a few hours ago or it would have locked up. This time it's only up to about 80% RAM usage.

Thanks for the help, and if there is anything else pertinent, please let me know.

I would like to chime in as well. Microsoft has a nice tool to classify RAM usage in categories.

Use RAMMAP and see which category uses most of the RAM and post the screenshot too:

RAMMap

I myself am not too technical in the meaning of the RAM categories, but I'm definitely sure someone here can explain each of the category and pinpoint the root cause of memory leak.

Hope this helps

I was not exactly sure which pages to cap for this one, so I just went with all of the ones where the data would mostly fit on the screen. Several were extremely long lists that I could not hope to capture with a screenshot.

Well, I downloaded a driver checking program, and installed all of the recommended updates. There were 6 drivers that it said were out of date, including the AMD catalyst drivers, Intel HD Graphics, Sound, Intel DRAM controller, and a couple others. It will probably be a few hours before I can see if there is a good result.

On a side note, I would have thought we would be in a place by now where our computer could manage updating it's own drivers. But we don't even seem to be in a place where the drivers that come loaded on a disk with your hardware even work reliably. :(

Thanks for all the help so far guys, I will report back once I know how it is going.

Well, I don't really see any improvement from updating all of the drivers to current versions. There is still that huge quantity of items in the non-paged pool, same as before pretty much.

Anyone else have any ideas?
