Hey there,

Over the last 2-3 days I have been having a lot of BSOD. You will see from the dumps that the error code is not the same everytime. I am very rusty troubleshooting, so I am at a loss as to what the problem is. Nothing new has changed with the computer except a new keyboard I got at the start of January.

The actual BSOD seems to happen randomly but have been mostly happening whilst gaming online(WOW). I have ran windwos update multiple times and have installed every update. I used a program DriverDoc and updated all my drivers yesterday(13th Jan 2015).

All system speccs are in my profile, if you need anything else just let me know.

I have attached the last number of BSOD over last couple days.

Thanks in advance

Gareth

Like I said I am extremely out of practice with this stuff. So I apologise for what is most likely very silly questions.

Firstly - When you say Uninstall the software related to the rest of the drivers in red - for example the first one SiWinAcc.sys. How do I find the program(s) associated with these files, as I do not want to end up creating even more trouble.

Secondly - I cannot find chipset drivers anywhere. I ran the program CPU-Z and said I have a X58 chipset, but I cannot find an update on the intel site.

Again sorry for the nooby questions but I dont want to make anything worse.

Regards

There is a lot of SI drivers available on their site. You should check out which exact do you need. I recommend downloading 3DP Chip that will help you with the drivers. If there is a yellow exclamation mark next to the driver sou should click on the driver's name to be directed to the update site.

Hey,

Got 3DP Chip program and got driver updates, great program thanks!

uninstalled majority of programs with the red drivers except for the couple I couldn't find the programs.

No BSOD yet, but will monitor for next 24/48hours and update as I haven't done any online gaming etc which was when most of the BSOD occurred.

your help so far has been extremely helpful!! :)

Hey,

So the BSOD are definitely a lot less but still getting a few. My problem is that a lot of the time the percentage stays at 0 so it doesn't generate a log file for the crash. I have attached a log file - you only need to really look at the last couple as the rest I think you already saw. The crashes now only seem to happen when im playing on-line in WOW. Is there anything in the logs that maybe indicate an issue with my SSD as I only use this drive for games.?

how do I do that, sorry to sound silly. But How do I just pick a couple of logs, the program extracts all of them.

open the archive that a program creates and drag them out to the desktop and zip them up separately.

An update on progress!

Uninstalled Norton and got Avast (seems to run smoother than norton, norton hogs resources?)

I updated most of the red marked drivers, but I ended up just removing a couple of programs, after googling and reading that lots of ppl had issues with them.

So fingers crossed atm I have had no crashes since. Again I will leave for 24/48hrs and monitor and update again.

Hopefully we have it nailed this time

Thank you so much for all the help so far

Will be in touch soon!

P.s the programs I removed completely were acronis and magicIso, top of your head do you know of common issues with these programs? Just in case I needed them again. Also should I just stay clear of Norton permanently?

Norton is known to cause issues, yes. Monitor your PC for further crashes and let me know should any problems arise.

I think we have fixed the issues, not had any bsod :) Thank you again for all of your help, you are a life saver! Off the top of your head, do you know what causes the computer to hang on the "shutting down" or "restarting" screen. Does it from time to time but no major issue.

Hey, I just unmarked this as unsolved since I am having same issues so seemed pointless creating new thread. I did a system wipe and reinstalled win 8. In general it has been going fine but last few days been getting 4-5 bsod all the same. I have attached them here.

Regards

Luc
