About 3 weeks ago I purchased an SSD and installed it. I started getting random crashes were my entire computer freezes up. The crashes usually happen 6-8 hours after the initial boot up, however it seems to occur more frequently when gaming. No mouse movement and I can't ctrl+alt+del. My fans and led's on my peripherals stay on, my screen stays frozen and does not power off. It requires me to hard reset, but things usually go back to normal after rebooting. Assuming the SSD was at fault I returned it and went back to using my HDD. Unfortunately the freezes have continued. No matter how much time I wait, I never get a BSOD and no blue screen error reports are created. Formatting and re-installing windows has not fixed the problem.
I looked through my administrative logs under event viewer and found a ton of errors. I was able to take care of some, for example there were a significant amount related to a razer program that I have now uninstalled. I also noticed "Audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0" was occurring around the time of the crashes. After looking through my security logs under event viewer I realized that there was a constant spam of audits relating to a number of different things. I decided to temporarily disable audits to see if that solves my freezing problem, but because I don't know how to recreate the freeze, I can't confirm if this was the solution.
I can confirm that it is not a problem with my hard drive, as it was also happening on the SSD. During the time this has been going on, I also installed a new GPU, so I would assume it is not related to that either.
System Specs:
GPU- XFX R9 290 4GB DD Edition
CPU- FX 6350
RAM- 8GB DDR3 G.Skill 1600
MOBO- MSI 970A-G46
PSU- 650 watt 80+ bronze
HDD- 500GB Western Digital 7200RPM
I have been monitoring my temps as well. My GPU stays around 70c under load, and my CPU never goes above 52c.
I will include the administrative event logs. Any help would be appreciated, as this problem has really gotten on my nerves.
EDIT: Just crashed again, seems I haven't discovered the problem.
