i got a random BSOD about an hour ago. i have uploaded/provided a link to download the compressed the DMP file. i should also add that a week ago i got a separate BSOD, and was told the problem was AVG (antivirus). I have found 3 DMP files, the first two are related to the first BSOD i had a week ago. The last one is the one i just got, today. Please let me know when you have finished with the link so i can delete the DMP file. Thanks
i dont know if todays BSOD has anything to do with this the previous two BSOD's last week. have also ran antivirus and have no virus.
The link to download the DMP file is:

are you sure its AVG? as someone else told me it was probably due to a driver being faulty. also why is CL virtual drive in red? is this a problem? thanks

It is indeed due to a driver. AVG's driver to be exact. Do you see the Probably caused by: avgvfpa.sys line? That's your proof. The driver in red is out dated and not supported by Windows 8(.1). I would recommend looking for an update.

Well, if it isn't bugging you, you don't need to, but if you want to be sure, just look for an update and get it done.

I think that's part of Cyberlink Power2Go package. Look for an updated version of that on the Net.

i have another problem if u can help me mate: I opened an elevated command prompt, typed in "sfc /scannow". When it completed it said "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example
C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log"

I then typed in "Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth". It then completes that and says "the restore operation completed successfully. the component store corruption was repaired. The operation comepleted successfully". I then to double check, re type in "sfc /scannow" and hope it doesnt find corrupt files but it does. after scanning it once again says "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example
C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log"

Re-do everything, and reboot your system after each operation. Repeat steps several times if needed.
Include log files in your next post.

so you want me to firstly do sfc scannow. then regardless of what it says restart. then if it said there were corrupt files (probably will say this) then type in "Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth". then restart? and then if it still says corrupt files then keep retrying? also i will do this tomorrow (in about 12-14 hours time# from now) so expect a reply with the information then. thanks

If SFC says that it found no integrity violations, then you do not have to restart.

hello again, i just ran sfc scannow, it said "windows found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. I then restarted and ran "Dism health" command then it said “the restore operation was finished successfully. the component store corruption was repaired. The operation completed successfully.” I then restarted and ran sfc scan now and it said “windows found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them” again. I then looked online and found out how to find the CBS log file in notepad. I then typed in CTRL+F (to find) and found “cannot repair”. There was only one line with cannot repair and that read “2014-12-08 13:05:08, Info CSI 0000027e [SR] Cannot repair member file [l:26{13}]"tzres.dll.mui" of Microsoft-Windows-International-TimeZones.Resources, Version = 6.3.9600.17248, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64 (9), Culture = [l:10{5}]"en-GB", VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, Type neutral, TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral in the store, hash mismatch“.? I used this website to find out how to find the problem above if you need to see “ How to Find What Files SFC Could Not Repair - For Dummies “. If you still want me to post the log file please let me know how to. Is it the same way as uploading the DMP file

I think i figured it out. in notepad where the CBS log is, on the same line and below the line where it reads "Cannot repair member file [l:26{13}]"tzres.dll.mui" of Microsoft-Windows-International-TimeZones.Resources, Version = 6.3.9600.17248, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64 (9), Culture = [l:10{5}]"en-GB", VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, Type neutral, TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral in the store, hash mismatch2014-12-08 13:24:50, Info CSI 000008e0 [SR] This component was referenced by [l:158{79}]"Package_50_for_KB2981580~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.2.2981580-50_neutral_GDR"

I used the link you gave me and started reading from "How to manually replace a corrupted system file with a known good copy of the file" and below. On number 3 of the steps, it all worked fine but said do you want to overwrite a file so i typed in "All" (which overwrite all the files it wanted to). it now says in command prompt "698 files were copied". what do i do now? run sfc again? also did i do the right or wrong thing when i typed in all for overwriting the files? Thanks

Well, you shouldn't have done that since all other files were apparently OK. Reboot, run SFC, reboot. Post back.
