BSOD trouble since reinstalling Windows.

Hello,

I had a very stable Windows 8.1 setup that had one issue: when I tried to wake it from sleep, it would instead POST (I could see the BIOS loading) but then somehow restore all open programs from before I put it to sleep. I realized this issue was overclock-dependent and experimented with the clock speed, and finally found the limit above which this issue would occur (4.0 GHz). I then raised the clock up to 4.1 GHz, tested the issue, and this time instead of booting up, my hard drive corrupted and Windows failed to boot. I reinstalled Windows from the disk as a fresh installation; however, since then my system has been much less stable than previously and I've been dealing with occasional BSODs.

Some of them seem to be overclock dependent; the BIOS settings which had previously given me spectacular stability (running Prime95 all day at 4.0 GHz) were no longer stable. An example of this is in the last crash dump from 11/22/14; I was running Dragon Age and a mod error caused the BSOD. I reverted the BIOS settings to default and now instead of causing a BSOD, the game crashed to desktop, which enabled me to find the problem, troubleshoot it, and fix it.

My latest BSOD (11/23/14) came with the BIOS as default settings; the computer crashed and restarted when I was waking the computer from sleep. At this point I'm not sure how to further troubleshoot the issues. I've used the information collector recommended on this forum and have attached the zip to this post. My only other lead is that Windows couldn't find my onboard audio driver so I downloaded it from a Gigabyte motherboard support page and installed it. Afterward it kept popping up every time I booted the computer to tell me it wasn't compatible with my version of Windows, so I uninstalled it and deleted the driver file via Device Manager, at which point Windows auto-installed a default audio driver which seems to work fine. I'm not sure if it's relevant because I fixed this on 11/20/14, but I'm disclosing in case it could possibly be involved in the BSODs since then.

Could anyone suggest troubleshooting for my system?

Thanks!

Alright, first things first, reset CPU to stock please while we are troubleshooting your system. Update all the drivers in red (if possible). Update AMD High Definition Audio Function Driver Driver Reference Table - AtihdWB6.sys
as it seems to be giving you problems. The cause seems to be ks.sys which is the Kernel CSA Library which handles the Streaming in other words related to the Audio/Video things

Thank you for your advice. Could you please tell me how to get the Asus ASACPI driver from Asus? Their site only lets you search by part number and all downloads for the Rampage III Gene are from 2010.

I just checked their site W8 is not officially supported, but leave that be for now. Have you updated AMD High Definition Audio Function Driver yet?
