When connecting external HDD by USB (or Firewire) a BSOD appears, with only a "KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE" message and no further indications.

Have you run diagnostics on the external HDD's? Here's a link to some free diags: Hard Drive Diagnostic Procedure
Use the inside Windows diagnostics as it's difficult to run them outside of Windows on a Mac

Please be sure that you have ALL Apple Software Updates inside of BootCamp, and that you have all Windows Updates also.
There's no certain cause being pointed out - so I suspect a hardware issue.
Please let us know the results of these diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics (don't run the hard drive or memory diagnostics outside of Windows).

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :
