BSOD while playing graphically intensive games?

Hello,

I am having issues with Windows 8.1 blue screens, while playing graphically intensive games like CS:GO or PAYDAY 2.I have recently un-installed Windows 7 because of some issues with DCOM server process launcher(probably malware)the thing wouldn't let me do repair installs or check the sound settings without restarting, and games also randomly crashing though I am not sure if it was driver related too.So now I am on 8.1 Enterprise and DCOM is working fine, everything isworking except for one thing:Games crash after 20-40 minutes of play time(CS:GO,PAYDAY 2...)sometimes I do manage to play an hour of and finish my session, games that are older(Garry's mod)Do NOT crash at all!.

Ok so thats the story,I have a program called Who Crashed and here are its crash reports:

Crash dump directory: C:\Windows\Minidump

Crash dumps are enabled on your computer.

What have I tried to do:
1.SFCSCANNOW
2.CHKDSK
3.ANTIVIRUS(QUICK SCAN) AND MALWAREBYTES(FULL),HITMANPRO(FULL) SCANS
4.UPDATED SOME DRIVERS,BUT NOT SURE IF ALL
5.DID A CLEAN UP OF MY COMPUTER(AUSLOGICS BOOST SPEED)
6.DID WINDOWS MEMTEST TO CHECK MY MEMORY
7.SET PAGEFILE TO AUTOMATIC

What I think is causing this:
1.Before doing a clean install I cloned over my old windows 7 hard driver and then put all of the files back into windows 8.1,mainly USERS(desktop,appdata...) folder,PROGRAM DATA,and some PROGRAM FILES folders.
3.Logitech G430 headset microphone does not work while being inserted in the included external sound-card so I only leave the heased in the card while having the mic connected directly into my computer(external sound card adds surround sound effect)This WORKED on Win7 but now I have this work-around.
2.Drivers???

P.S 1 .I have currently enabled Driver verifier with the cmd in admin mode to see if it crashes again,so crashes yet(still have not played any games)

2.Downloading some windows updates atm,so that might not be recorded in the dm log and SF scans!!!

EDIT:Woops did not read posting instructions,I will add something if needed, reading instructions now.
EDIT2:Ok here is the complete package(both options SF scanner and dm log collector)+CPU-Z system specs:

P.S.S: Sorry for putting out this much info, but I like to get everything on the table :p

Kindly remove Daemon Tools as they are known to cause the problems since long time. Make sure that your remove it's SPTD Component as well.

Update the other highlighted drivers.
Furthermore, have you tested playing the games using the Drivers provided to you on the Driver Disc which came with the GPU? You can do this by running the Display Driver Uninstaller from this **LINK** and then installing driver from the Driver CD. You can also try reverting back to a few versions of the Display Driver.

I would suggest you to run the FurMark Test according to the below Guide (Thanks Usasma) -
FurMark Video Stress Test - free from here: FurMark: VGA Stress Test, Graphics Card and GPU Stability Test, Burn-in Test, OpenGL Benchmark and GPU Temperature | oZone3D.Net
FurMark Setup:
- If you have more than one GPU, select Multi-GPU during setup
- In the Run mode box, select "Stability Test" and "Log GPU Temperature"
Click "Go" to start the test (Looks like it's "BURN-IN test" now)
- Run the test until the GPU temperature maxes out - or until you start having problems (whichever comes first).
NOTE: Set the alarm to go off at 90ºC. Then watch the system from that point on. If the system doesn't display a temperature, watch it constantly and turn it off at the first sign of video problems. DO NOT leave it it unmonitored, it can DAMAGE your video card!!!
If the temperature gets above 100ºC, quit the test - the video card is overheating.
- Click "Quit" to exit[/quote]
What you are looking for:
- excessive heat from the GPU (report back with anything over 90ºC)
- problems with the video display (picture is distorted or jumbled, picture turns black, etc)
- problems reported by the program (I haven't seen this, but "just in case")

Report back with any problems you observe.
Let me know how it goes ^_^

tap0901t.sys is part of my tunngle software so it is already up to date.
LGBusEnum.sys and LGVirHid.sys
are part of the Logitech gaming software and they should also be up to date
HECIx64.sys and RTKVHD64.sys I have updated these drivers
dtscsidrv.SYS and
sptd.sys I have un-installed daemon tools and I have un-installed sptd from the uninstaller provided from the creator of this driver

My graphics drivers are always up-to-date and they shouldn't cause any problems,I have lost my driver CD,but the driver on it is really old, everything would run rather slow even if I used it.

As for the Fur-Mark test I am going to run it soon,I will post back if anything interesting happens.

One thing I do need help with is how do I revert to stock windows 8.1 settings without doing a system refresh or deleting all of my personal files?

Oh and with overclocking,my system might be doing it automatically, but I am not sure,I have not done any overclocking on win 8.1 personaly.

Bingo!
So I ran FurMark for like 15 minutes on max Burn in extreme settings, everything was running fine,it went from 48 to 66 degrees in 3 minutes and then stayed 66 to 68 during the next 10 minutes, then it crashed unexpectedly and I then proceeded to go to control panel to see event viewer, and then explorer.exe, taskhost.exe and controll.exe crashed and they did not restart.it seemed like the whole OS was going to crash,I had to restart my computer to fix this.

So to put it simply,I ran the test, video looked good, temperature held out really nicely, but it crashed after 15 minutes and the the whole system stopped working, system program crash one after the other.

Settings:
Dynamic background,Burn in,Extreme burn-in,Post-FX,8x MSAA,1920x1080

Results:
Run-time: 15 minutes approx
Temperature: min 48 degrees and max 68 degrees
Video:avg 18 fps,looked smooth enough,everything looked normal.

Benchmark:

I also ran the included benchmark on 1080 presets and it passed(GPU, OpenGL and OpenCL database) again everything looked normal.

Something really weird just happened,

I went on to play CS:GO for an hour and after 15 minutes my internet went off,and it wouldn't let me disconnect and try to reconnect from the wireless network list,so I opened the troubleshooting program and it determined that the(I do not remember how it exactly called it)Wireless network service was not enabled,so it enabled it but the internet still was not working,so I restarted my computer

After rejoining the match my game crashed AGAIN,no error message,no nothing. My friends told me that the server displayed no steam logon message.

After the match was over My game froze at the scoreboard and I could hear my Skype, and the glitch game sounds.CTRL+ALT+DELETE wouldn't work and I was not able to turn off the game,so yet another restart was required!

So I had about 3 crashes/problems during my one hour match.In-game I had no lag issues, and everything was running smoothly on MAX settings.

I have done a complete video driver removal and reinstall, removed all of the old and new folders. Then I ran furmark and it passed the xtreme burn in test and it seemed like my problems were solved, aperantly not!

Also made windows do a complete memory dump!

Hi GioXmen ^_^,

So, the FurMark is passing after the removal and re-installation of the Graphics Drivers?

I would suggest you to run the Hardware Diagnostics over here -
Hardware Diagnostics

Report back with the output of the Hardware Tests. Perform all of the tests even if you have done them previously.

Also, in your next post, if after the Hardware Tests you are still not able to find the error, kindly re run the SF Diagnostic Tool and upload the ZIP File generated by the Tool.

Let me know how it seems ^_^

OK,

So I have ran Memtest86+ and it did not detect anything
Intel processor diagnostics tool detected nothing
Malware-bytes anti rootkit detected nothing
I did not have any spare CD's for the Hard Driver Test!
FurMark Extreme mode caused the system to BSOD,the mini-dump is included in the SF folder!I also have the full dump but..it is rather big sitting at 8GB so it is not included!

A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: ntdll.sys .
Google query: ntdll.sys KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE

Conclusion

2 crash dumps have been found and analyzed. A third party driver has been identified to be causing system crashes on your computer. It is strongly suggested that you check for updates for these drivers on their company websites. Click on the links below to search with Google for updates for these drivers:

ntdll.sys

If no updates for these drivers are available, try searching with Google on the names of these drivers in combination the errors that have been reported for these drivers and include the brand and model name of your computer as well in the query. This often yields interesting results from discussions from users who have been experiencing similar problems.

SFC SCANNOW found some errors and couldnt repair them using this command I have made CBS log readable(findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt" ) I will also include the full CBS log.

So I have performed a boot-time avast scan and it found 3 viruses. Then before I left home I have left avast and malwarebytes to do some scans.Malware bytes found two small things and avast found 3 big viruses.Once I came back I noticed some device stopped working,I have disabled it because it might be the thing causing the BSOD's
View attachment 53998View attachment 53997

Ok,now I have cleaned up my PC from dust pretty well. Then I ran FurMark again ,It lasted for about 30 minutes then it came, but the BSOD was not instant.First there was a message that a critical system process died then it BSOD'd on me.

But now I think I may have a clue to whats causing this, the crash dump suggests that it is avasts problem,so now I will un-install it completely and see if it helps

Hi GioXmen ^_^,

It seems that there is rootkit activity on your system. I would suggest you to run GMER from this link -
http://gmer.net/

and post back the results.

Apparently the Wininit.exe process died which is important for making sure that your system starts up correctly. Once you are confirmed that there is no Rootkit activity on the system, I would suggest you to run DISM according to the below canned speech (Thanks Usasma!) -

Then please run the following DISM commands to see if there's any problems with the system (from an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt). Press Enter after each one:
Code:
Code:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
Code:
Code:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
If the problem is fixable, you can use this command to repair it (from an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt). Press Enter after typing it:
Code:
Code:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
From this article: Repair a Windows Image

Once this is done, also run sfc.exe /scannow from an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt to check for further corruption.

Let me know how it goes ^_^

Sadly Gmer does NOT run on windows 8.1,ether that or it just crashes after doing the quick scan for 30 seconds

The latest version of GMER 2.1.19357
GMER runs only on Windows NT/W2K/XP/VISTA/7/8

And yes I have done comparability with win 8 and 7 and ran as admin, got the random named one and the zipped

Running avastMBR instead which is on the same website

EDIT:avastMBR found nothing.

The DISM said it was repairable and then it said the component store corruption was repaired,so I guess it went well.

SFC ScanNow showed that it found some erroes but was not able to fix all of them, here is the original log and here is a cleaned up version of it using this command(findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt)

OK,I was just about to close this thread because I thought I have found the problem, but I had another BSOD.

One crash dump file analysis showed me that avast was to blame for the crashes ,so I have un-installed it and now I am using Windows defender.FurMark was able to run for 1 hour and 30 minutes,5 CS GO matches and no crash at all.Even FarCry 4 ran well.

Now after the last CS GO match it crashed again, here is the analysis and the dump file.

NvStreamKms.sys - It is part of my Geforce Experience program and video drivers all of those are up to date,but.. since it may cause BSOD's I have disabled the service since I have no NVIDIA Schield to use it on!

tap0901t.sys is part of tunngle, and tunngle is up to date, but since I am not using it atm,I will disable the network adapter whcih uses the driver I think.

LGBusEnum.sys and LGVirHid.sys are drivers for my logitech gear,I have the software installed and it is the latest version, and also I have the latest firmware for my gear installed also,so there schould be no problems there.

As for the Memtest86+ I will do it again.I will leave one RAM stick to test itself overnight and the other during the day.One question. How long does it usually take to get 7 passes,I don't want it to over test the RAM stick,or is it dangerous to leave the test unsupervised?

And for the CPU clock I am going to reset the clock sppeds,I did not do an overclocking ,but I am going to check it out ASAP!

The RAM test usually takes around 6-7 h. It's not dangerous. I've done it many times. Unless the errors begin to pop up immediately, then you can stop the test.

Ugh,another crash.

I was doing a system repair with a tool called Windows All in one repair, and it was almost done too(it was doing an windows 8 component store repair),then I wanted to close a game since I was done with it and then...BSOD

I keep getting more and more types of BSOD's it seems.

Sadly I can not upload the dump file since winrar gives me
an error now, won't let me reinstall it eather, same error :/
Thread pool initialization failed.
! Invalid access to memory location.

This might be due to me crashing unexpectedly since the repair tool warned me if this process closes before it is finished it may cause some problems.

I am going to finish the remaining steps on the repair and hope it fixes this.

EDIT:Seems like alot of things are not working and are giving me random errors, stuff like event viewer.I might have to do a system restore since the repair tool created one before repairing my system :(

EDIT2:Ok so the repair finished and restarted my computer now winrar works, event viewer too. Here is the crash dump.

Again, Logitech drivers are outdated and might be causing crashes, but RAM is way more likely. Please do the memory test as soon as possible, and replace the stick should it be necessary. I also see that you still haven't reset your CPU clock.

I will do the ram tests,

As for the CPU clock I was about to do it but... umm I got that BSOD xD

EDIT:I have went into the BIOS settings and chose to reset everything to factory settings. Here is a picture of how it looks on the task manager,I don't know if it will show you if it is overclocked or not though.

View attachment 54171
CPU is not at like 984 threads now.

Oh and I got a small problem or problems,

1.[DEL]Windows defender real time protection will not turn on,I have check its settings and used fix now,I have also tried enabling it through the important messages flag,it only opens the system32 folder[/DEL].Oh and strange thing is Malware Bytes will not activate its real-time protection too!
View attachment 54173

EDIT:Windows defenders seems to be working after a registry and file cleanup, but malwarebytes is still not working, even after clean re-install!

2.How do I update the Logitech drivers the software is up to date!Logitech only provides downloads to its gaming software for drivers I think.Logitech Gaming Software - Logitech Support
