Solved blue screen of death !!

Hi all ,,i am trying to reinstall windows on a friends laptop, he had win 8 on and it just kept
wanting to repair the system all the time and would not boot to windows ,
so i am trying to install a fresh os with win 7 but every time it gets so far in to the installation
then goes to the BSOD,,is there any thing i can do ??
any help would be appreciated thank you

First thing I would do is to check hardware health of that computer. RAM and HDD first.

Hi thanks or the advice ,, i have been on cmd prompt and run chkdsk and all seems ok with the hdd, memory checks out also
was thinking that i should try to format the drive in cmd prompt and go from there ,,but not really sure of how to do that or even if its a good idea..what do you think.??

Hi thanks or the advice ,, i have been on cmd prompt and run chkdsk and all seems ok with the hdd, memory checks out also
was thinking that i should try to format the drive in cmd prompt and go from there ,,but not really sure of how to do that or even if its a good idea..what do you think.??
Chkdsk doesn't really checks disk but only file system on it and if there's any file corruption ie. wrong checksum in them. Proper way to check them would be to download and set on CD or USB a program from it's manufacturer. That can show much more and maybe even repair it.
Similar thing can be done for RAM checking.
There may be some other problems, like some laptops require OS specially prepared for particular machine, you can check that with it's manufacturer.
Maybe you can try to install a live Lunux on a USB drive and maybe even install it to see if it would run, they are pretty tolerant to HW errors. If it works out you can repartition and reformat that HDD from the that USB and start windows installation from scratch.
