I'm tired of my computer having BSOD smultiple times a day. From IRQ Less or EQUAL to Video Memory Management, .. and everytime the culpurit is different. I'm using this for past 2 months Instant Online Crash Analysis.

The first BSOD happened with my Win 8.1 64 bit, after that I reinstalled the 32 bit version. Was happy for few days and when everything is installed BSOD came back! And it's going on for 2 months now.

One strange thing is when I download something with megaupload on chrome (or any browser), while waiting for the % progression, I got BSOD! And this is always gives me BSOD. Usually at around 67% of download progression. Maybe memory stick problem? I don't know

I'm really in a need of helps from you guys. I hope you will find the causes.

Your BIOS dates from 2009. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard. If possible, use the "inside Windows" flash mechanism (if your OEM provides one).

There is a very real possibility that this system is not compatible w/Win8 or 8.1 We will continue to assist you, but at some point you may agree about the compatibility issue (if it is a compatibility issue, we just won't be able to fix it). If that's the case, then your alternative is to revert to Win7 or earlier.

This device has problems in Device Manager:
ATA Channel 0 PCIIDE\IDECHANNEL\4&A663227&0&0 Ce périphérique ne peut pas démarrer.
Please ensure that you have installed the latest, Win8.1 compatible chipset drivers for your motherboard. If unable to get them from the Asus website, I'd suggest checking http://downloadcenter.intel.com to see if they have a Win8.1 compatible version for this chipset. You can find the chipset by using CPU-Z and looking at the Mainboard tab (free here: CPU-Z CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting )

The memory dumps are suggestive of a hardware/compatibility/low-level driver problem. Please also run these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Hello and thank you usasma.
I'll make it simple for us.

FIrst I had 2 BSOD before doing everything I've done below.
Second, I did a memory test with Windows built in memory test 3 or 4 weeks ago : No error. Same goes sfc/ scannow.

Now, I already had the latest bios from here :Motherboards - P5KPL/EPU - ASUS
Not sure if I started to have BSOD before or after I updated to the latest BIOS (Version0404)

I'm pretty sure I have the latest Intel Chipset driver. There is no Win 8.1 as far as I know. It's up to Win 7, and that's what I'm using now. My chipset model is P35/G33/G31.

I uninstalled BazisVirtualCDBus.sys and uninstalled ASACPI.sys.
Then I installed the latest ASACPI.sys from this : ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download ATK_package 16th Nov 2012update

I'm restarting my computer now. I'll update you once I got BSOD again.

Update:
I didn't get any BSOD after I've done the things above for hours (almost all day)
But I wanted to reproduce the BSOD caused by Chrome and
https://mega.co.nz/
And I got the the DPC Watchdog BSOD. I can download files from Mega with download managers but with Chrome built-in downloader I got BSOD everytime.

Please check the new zip.

Please note the lack of a pattern. This is typical of:
- hardware issues
- compatibility issues
- low-level driver issues

This device still has problems in Device Manager (this is a critical item as it's the controller for your drives that's affected here). Ensure that your hard drive is connected to ATA Channel 1 and that no devices are connected to ATA Channel 0 (you can identify them using the motherboard manual) - this is not a "fix", but rather is an attempt to avoid any additional problems caused by connecting a drive to a malfunctioning controller.:
ATA Channel 0 PCIIDE\IDECHANNEL\4&A663227&0&0 Ce périphérique ne peut pas démarrer.
You must fix it. The way to do this is to reinstall the chipset drivers. If the chipset drivers don't fix it, then we've got to presume that there's a problem with the motherboard, or with the compatibility of the chipset drivers. Unfortunately, the only test for this that I can think of is to revert to Win7 and see if that fixes the problem.

According to the specs on the board from the Asus website, you have the G31 chipset. Intel does not offer a Win8 or 8.1 version of this. As both Asus and Intel don't support it, this increases the likelyhood of it not being compatible.

BazisVirtualCDBus.sys is still in the memory dumps. Please verify that you uninstalled it - and then I'll include instructions for removing it manually.

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).
Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).
Alternate link: Disk-Tools.com
Manual procedure here: Registry and SPTD problems | DAEMON Pro Help

Update your network driver to latest, Win8.1 compatible version. As this is a Realtek driver, you can get the latest version from: Realtek

Uninstall any of these Asus utilities (I'm trying to remove the IOMap.sys driver as it dates from before Win8.1 was released) - ASUS Kernel Mode Driver for NT/Asus Smart Doctor/iTracker 2/Asus GPU Tweak/GPU Tweak Streaming

Next, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings
If the BSOD's persist, please run these free diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics I don't have great confidence in the built in Windows Memory test - so please run the memory tests that I suggest (MemTest86+ and Prime95)

This is my 4th attempt to answer since I got 3 BSOD while writing it. One of them occured when I plugged in and out my phone cable from the front USB panel. This time I set my Memory parameters on AUTO in the BIOS, I had it manually configured.

Edit: Got my 4th BSOD after I boot up with Memory parameters on AUTO. My 5th attempt.

This is the real feedback now.

I went to BIOS, swaped SATA 2 with 3, left SATA 1 on 1. Then I disabled IDE since I don't use IDE deviced. Boot up my PC and found all ATA Channel work.

I found BazisVirtualCDBus.sys in 2 directories : in Drivers and xxxxrepository thingy.

I removed sptd.sys with the tools.

I updated my network driver per said. Although I don't use ethernet cable, but it can be problematic if not updated I guess.

I had only Asus GPU Tweak and uninstalled it now.

I can't use Driver Verifier since I don't have a flash drive.

Edit 2:
I tried to find the bazisvirtualcdbus.sys directories with windows explorer search function and got like 3 BSOD whith it.
I'll upload the updated SF and stop using the search function.

I don't work with customized BIOS settings - I suggest that you leave them at the default.
If you'd like help with customized BIOS settings - then I'd suggest posting over in the hardware forums. The experts there can provide more assistance than I can.

If you'll note, the wired ethernet driver was present in the memory dump - even though you don't use it.
That's because the system loads in on boot in case you need to use it later on. And that's why it has to be updated even though you don't use it.

If your system crashes, how do you propose to recover it? You'll either need a USB drive or a CD/DVD player to restore the system. And, if you haven't made the recovery media, you'll have to pay even more to get a set made for you.

Please be sure to run these free hardware diagnostics. Since you don't have a USB drive:
- run the Seagate Seatools for Windows rather than the bootable disk
- run Prime95 for 24 hours rather than the MemTest86+ program
- run the rest of the tests normally (inside of Windows)
Let us know the results and we'll move on from there.

Yeah hopefully you told me to update my ethernet ^^

I have the original DVD for Win 8 32/64 bit.
To be honest I don't get what is this recovery media thingy. I've never done it.

Going to do prime95 and seagate tools.

I'll contact you back once I got my results.

Who made your original DVD's? If they're from Microsoft, then they'll work just fine. If they're not, then it may/maynot work.

The point of the recovery media thing is so that you can recover if the system refuses to boot. This happened more often with Driver Verifier in XP, but I still ask you to take the steps "just in case". There are still other ways to recovery, it's just that this is (IMO) the most certain way for most users.

The first screen usually asks for your Language and region - then click next.
In the next screen it'll say something like "Repair this computer" in the lower left corner - that's the recovery stuff.
Here's pics of the first 2 screens:

If you don't see this, then just shut the computer off and remove the DVD from the drive and reboot.
Nothing should have been changed if you didn't go past this point.
If you're unsure, remove the DVD, shut it off, and then reboot.

Here's how to remove the Bazis Virtual CD driver:
1) Create a Restore Point using System Restore
2) Test the Installation disc to make sure that you can get to the System Restore entry when you boot from the disk/drive (you may also want to try actually using System Restore to make sure that it works) - that is, make sure you can get past the "Repair your computer" link and actually get into the repair functions.
3) Download this free program (Autoruns for Windows) and use it to disable any instances of BazisVirtualCDBus.sys that are starting (or any other Bazis entries) (DO NOT DELETE - only disable by removing the checkmark in the left hand column)
4) Check in Device Manager (to include showing hidden devices from the View menu item) and ensure that any instances of BazisVirtualCDBus.sys (or any other Bazis entries) are "Uninstalled" (DO NOT DISABLE THESE).
5) Check in the Services applet (services.msc) to be sure any instances of BazisVirtualCDBus.sys or any other Bazis entries are disabled.
6) EXPERIMENTAL STEP (only try if you're certain of your abilities - I have not tried this step myself). Search the registry (use regedit.exe) to locate any entries that have the driver name (BazisVirtualCDBus.sys) or the program name (Bazis). Delete these keys (it's advisable to back them up first - but you've also backed up the entire registry when creating a System Restore point in step 1. Alternatively, you can set the values in these keys to DISABLED (but the "how" of this is beyond the scope of this).
7) Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers and rename the BazisVirtualCDBus.sys driver to BazisVirtualCDBus.BAD (search the hard drive for it if it's not in C:\Windows\System32\drivers).

In the event that the system doesn't boot:

1) Boot from the System Repair disc/Recovery Drive/Installation disc and use the Command Prompt option to rename BazisVirtualCDBus.BAD to BazisVirtualCDBus.sys
Code:
ren C:\Windows\System32\drivers\BazisVirtualCDBus.BAD C:\Windows\System32\drivers\BazisVirtualCDBus.sys
2) Boot from the System Repair disc/Recovery Drive/Installation disc and use the System Restore option to restore the system to a point before the changes were made.

Good luck!

Ok I removed BazisVirtualCDBus.sys.
I checked the autorun and registry, not there anymore. Checked Device Manager, not there as well.

I checked Seagate Tools and check passed.

But I got few BSOD yesterday and today. I think my wifi card has something to do with it.

EDIT 1 : I've got multiple BSOD in a row!

EDIT 2: More coming with Update2.
Also when I checked with Seagate Tools I got BSOD once or twice didn't remember.

Why do you think your wifi card has something to do with it? FYI - Owners of the system solve many more BSOD's than I ever do!

Out of 15 memory dumps there were 10 different BSOD error codes. The differing error codes are usually symptomatic of a lower level problem within the system. They are usually caused by one of these things:
- borked (broken) hardware (several different procedures used to isolate the problem device)
- BIOS issues (check for updates at the motherboard manufacturer's website)
- overclocking/overheating - You'll know if you're overclocking or not. If uncertain we can suggest things to check.
- missing Windows Updates
- compatibility issues (3rd party hardware/drivers), older systems, or even pirated systems
- low-level driver problems
- or even malware (scanned for when we ask for hardware diagnostics from Initial Hardware Diagnostics or Hardware Diagnostics ).

Please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings
Use the installation DVD in Step 2 where it says recovery/restore disc/drive

Please start with these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics

Alright I'll do Driver Verifer.
I'll post back once I'm done with it.

EDIT 1 : I've been running Driver Verifier new settings for 9 hours now along with Prime95 (2 workers).
And no BSOD or whatsover. o.o

Edit 2: i talked too fast. I just got a Memory Management BSOD. I'll male an SF.

Edit 3: Got another one.

Edit 4: SF_22-09-2014_Jibz_VERIFIER_ON is generated while I'm with the Driver Verfier custome settings ON. Didn't revert back to normal settings yet.

Edit 5: got another Memory Managment error.

Edit 6: and another new bsod. I stop now verifier and upload the latest SF.

Edit 7:SF_22-09-2014_Jibz_VERIFIER_OFF.zip after disabling Driver Verifier and rebooting.

Edit 8 : After running windows normally, I got this a new BSOD : SF_23-09-2014_Jibz.zip

Edit 9 : I got multipled BSOD the past 2 days... this is so frustrating.
I can't normally run prime95 because it uses almost all my CPU power.
Here is the latest SF file. SF_25-09-2014.zip

Sorry for not responding sooner. I get an email when you respond, but don't get one when you edit.

What are the results of the hardware diagnostics that I asked you to run?
FWIW - Prime95 will take up your CPU, that's how it stresses it.
If it crashes your system, that's another story, and that would indicate a memory or a CPU issue.

10 different BSOD error codes out of 15 memory dumps - this is usually a sign of a hardware problem.
The Verifier enabled memory dumps blame Windows components - this is a sign of either hardware or Windows problems (this effectively rules out 3rd party drivers)
Please run these free diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics
Let us know the results and we'll move on from there.

You can close this.
I think I found the culpurit. I'm using Win 7 64 bit right now, and still had multipled BSOD.
I then removed my memory sticks, tested with one by one and realised one of them gives the BSOD.
In the end it was mainly caused my faulty corrupted memory stick.

Should I revert back to Win 8? this time Win 8 64 bit or just stay with Win 7 64 bit?

Anyway, thank you for your assistance. It was really appreciated.
Cheers!

If everything is working fine, you might as well stay with Win8.1 for now.
Please understand that incompatibility may exist in the system - but it may take an update to expose it.
Unfortunately, then you face a hard decision - to forgoe the update and risk exposing your system to the bad guys, or to use the update and live with the problems that it exposes.

I'm glad to hear that you figured out the memory problem. Thanks for letting us know!

Unfortunately I found out that it was my memory stick after I freshly install Win 7...
I'm using a single DDR2 PC6400 Kingston 2GB KHX8500D2K2/4G HyperX, the other same one is dead.
Now I feel my computer is laggy, stuttering and hangs most of the time.
I've updated Win 7 with the latest updates, I'm not sure if it's Win 7 or it's my single channel memory that makes it feel laggy.

Unfortunately, then you face a hard decision - to forgoe the update and risk exposing your system to the bad guys, or to use the update and live with the problems that it exposes.
What do you mean by this?

What I mean is that, if you decide the computer is incompatible w/Win8, yet you want to keep Win8- then your choices are:
- to continue using it with the updates (and you'll continue to have problems)
- to continue using it but not use the updates (this may avoid the problems, but the missing updates can cause other problems - such as security vulnerabilities or other unexpected behavior)

Because of the issues that you're having with Win7, Please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis (even though you're not reporting BSOD's): http://www.eightforums.com/bsod-cra...e-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html Please use Option 1 as it provides Event Viewer logs.

Also, please do the following:
- open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog))
- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
- right click on Administrative Events
- select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
- save the file as Admin.evtx
- zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
- upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

I'll have a look at the reports to see if anything is amiss. When you have problems that continue after an OS install, the most common issue is a hardware problem. Please do these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics
It's possible that the event that caused the memory stick to go bad could also have caused another component to go bad.

Ok here are the reports.
What really strange is when I have the massive lag/stuttering/hangs I notice that my CPU usage doesn't change and it's around 24%

CPU usage of 24% is actually pretty high - and I'd expect to see some issues if it continually stays at 24%
FWIW - at work if we have high CPU usage and no sign of a problem in TaskManager - then we start to thing about a possible malware infection. Please scan your system with an antivirus.
Also, check the different tabs in TaskManager to see if you can spot the offending culprit.

The Admin event log shows a problem with osu!.exe - please uninstall the program to see if that helps
Lot's of problems with the Microsoft Antimalware service - and the named files make me strongly suspect malware here.
I'd suggest using an independent malware scanner in order to determine if the Microsoft Antimalware program has been corrupted by malware. Here's a link to a page with different free scanners: Free Online AntiMalware Resources Please be advised that I haven't updated this page in a while, so some of the scans may not be compatible w/Win8.

There are a couple of BSOD's listed in the WER section of MSINFO32 - but they're not very indicative of any particular problem.
Please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings
If the system is infected, there's no need to run Driver Verifier, and you should seek assistance from the experts over in the System Security forums: System Security - Windows 8 Forums
