Solved Event ID 55

Hello,

I hope you can help me. I am not the most technical person around but I have searched and tried to sort this before posting.

I am getting event id 55 a lot in event viewer it says:

I have run (in this order)
chkdsk /r (I took 4 hours)
sfc /scannow
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
none of them found any problems.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Do you have any USB sticks attached? A camera? The event points to a shadow copy, rather than an actual drive. Use vssadmin to list and obtain information about the shadow copies currently configured. You can also take a look at Event ID: 55 Source: Ntfs for some ideas about what can go wrong.

Thank you for the advise.
I do have a USB thing (not sure you'd call it a stick. It is very short). It came with the computer and enables the wireless keyboard and mouse.
I have since discovered that volume shadow copy relates in some way to system restore. So I have deleted all the system restore points and the error seems to have stopped. At least for now. I'm not sure why the system would constantly check the integrity of a system restore point but oh well, it is what it is I guess.
