Bsod whea_uncorrectable_error (124)

Hello,
I've had problems with my PC for a while. Used Windows 7 before, it oftenly crashed(especially while playing games). I used to get 0x124 BSOD.

I thought it there might be a problem with cooling. My case was broken and one side couldn't be fully closed. I bought a new case, dusted away as much as I could with compressed air.

Today I installed 8.1 and soon enough started getting this BSOD:
WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR (124)

I'm a newbie in this thing, I've added two reports.

The txt file is from WinDbg tools, the zip file is from SF Debug Tool created by John.

Please help me out, thank you.

EDIT:
I remembered that I took several photos while my PC was starting (still on Windows 7). It SOMETIMES looked that way, but not all the time. Uploading photos.

    Windows 8.1
I have been getting the BCC 124 blue screens and WHEA errors on my system, both Win 7 and Win 8 (I have a dual boot with separate SSD's for each OS).

On my system, it appears to be a CPU problem (i7 3770), as I've replaced memory (no help), replaced the motherboard (no help), replaced the power supply (no help). Ran Win 7 with only the Win 7 SSD connected (no help) and ran Win 8 with only the Win 8 SSD connected (no help). The only thing left that has not been changed is the CPU and I'm still getting them, so I assume the CPU is the problem.

I've ran the Intel CPU diagnostics and it passes. CPU temperature is not a problem, the cores idle around 30 C and rarely go much over 40 C.

I've ordered a replacement CPU

fireberd- if you'd like individual help with your problems, please start a separate topic. Also, please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis (from the Pinned Topic at the top of the forum): http://www.eightforums.com/bsod-cra...e-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html Please use Option 1 as it provides Event Viewer logs.

Folka - I suspect a problem with the video card (although other problem areas are possible) - simply because you're showing pictures of video distortion. The first thing to check is the cooler on the video card. Make sure that:
- it's free of dust/dirt/hairballs
- it's receiving cool air (not air directly from the CPU or PSU exhaust
- that the video card fan is running
- that any power connections to the video card are firmly seated in their sockets (and that the video card is firmly seated in the slot on the motherboard).
Use this free utility to monitor the video card temps: HWMonitor CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting
Normally temps shouldn't exceed:
CPU - 60ºC
GPU - 80ºC
HDD and other components - 40ºC

Nice work with WinDbg. The !analyze -v command and the lmtsmn command can also help to isolate a bit more from the report.

The STOP 0x124 error is primarily seen as a hardware problem. It mentions the CPU because it's actually the CPU that reports the error to Windows (and this is why the memory dump is a bit more cryptic for STOP 0x124's than it is for most other errors).
But, the STOP 0x124 can also be due to compatibility problems or to low-level driver issues/corruptions - so, while we may start with hardware diagnostics, there are other tests/reports that we'll use to help rule out the compatibility/low-level driver issues.

Your BIOS dates from 2010. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard. If possible, use the "inside Windows" flash mechanism (if your OEM provides one).

No Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 60 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

If you're overclocking, please stop the overclock while we're troubleshooting. Feel free to resume the overclock once the system has been stabilized.
Processor may be overclocked!

I don't need any help, thanks. I went through it on the Win 7 forum. I have a new CPU on order from newegg, due for delivery today. That should take care of my problem, since everything else has been replaced.

I was only commenting because I was having the same thing.

Hello,
thank you for the reply. I've started looking around.

I cleaned the GPU fully from dust(even took it apart, dusted as much as I could). I've changed to fonts to green of steps that are done. One thing stood up is CPU temperature, it's always around 60. It might be the CPU cooler, because it sometimes makes a funny noise(I'll replace it with a new one and put a fresh layer of thermal paste on the CPU).

Windows updates are done, drivers are updated.

So far I still get BSODs and the video distortion is still there.

Starting the video tests now, will update.

Once again, THANK YOU!

EDIT: I've set all default values in BIOS(no overclock now). And there isn't a new BIOS version.

EDIT2: The tests went fine, I've tested it first at the resolution which I play video games in(1600x900 not full screen).
Then did a benchmark preset: 720. The results: GPU, OpenGL and OpenCL database.
Benchmark Preset: 1080 GPU, OpenGL and OpenCL database
Note, that Preset 1080 had an "Inpute not supported" on my screen.

It's getting out of hand. I can only turn on my PC in safe mode. The video is messed up. Doubt that it's possible to fix it, thinking of getting a new GPu

If possible, try getting a new GPU from a place that accepts returns (and will give you your money back) if it's not needed.
