Please follow the below steps :-

  1. Please remove Daemon Tools as it has been known to cause problems.
  2. Please update the rest of the drivers.
  3. Please remove "SeriousBit NetBalancer Internet traffic control and monitoring tool".

Let me know how it goes ^_^.

Hi blueelvis

Thank you very much for having a look. I am busy downloading all of the drivers (over 500mb of them), and I've un-installed daemon tools + netbalancer. I will reply here in a few day's time, and give you feedback if I have received a BSOD again or not. (I received another BSOD just about 5hrs ago, but I'll implement the stuff you said right now, and hopefully it will work).

Thank you, talk again soon

Hi again blueelvis. So it's been 5 days and I'm happy to report that I haven't had a single BSOD since doing all of these changes. (PS. I also did another thing that you didn't recommend, and that was disabling "nvidia streaming service" because I read that that can cause BSOD also. Anyway, thank you very much for your help, it's very much appreciated.

Thanks for the rep ^_^.

Glad to hear that the issue has been resolved :)

The NVIDIA Streaming Service is only required if you own a NVIDIA SHIELD Device and want to do the streaming stuff. If you do not own a SHIELD device, it is absolutely un-necessary to run. I hope this helps ^_^.

Can you believe it? Just about 1hr after posting my "victory over the BSOD" post, I got a bloody BSOD again.. what are the chances?

I'm sure that I celebrated too much, and my computer resented me, so it got another BSOD, TWICE!

the first BSOD said "KERNEL SECURITY CHECK FAILURE" and the 2nd BSOD said something about "KMODE EXCEPTION".. the 2nd BSOD happened while I was playing a game, which has never before happened. I usually only got these BSOD while browsing, so this is a first. I was doing 'screen recording' when I got the 2nd BSOD, so maybe that had something to do with it.

I have created another report with the collecting tool (should include both minidumps from the past 3hrs) and I hope that you can crush this BSOD problem, just like you did with the other one.

(PS. you will see that I still have the 'netbalancer' installed, that is because I uninstalled the old one (like you suggested), and then installed a new one).

Thank in advance again

Hi Plank68 ^_^,

I have analyzed your latest dump file and it clearly blames the Serious Bit Netbalancer and it is present in the Stack of Function Calls as well. Below is the summary of that :-

As you can see that the software driver is very old for Windows 8.1 (As it dates back to 2010), I would strongly recommend you to uninstall the software and find some alternative.

Let me know how it goes ^_^.

Again that Netbalancer? Ugh.. I thought that if I installed another version that it would have fixed it, but alas not... Ok, I'll look for an alternative (I use it to limit the speed that my youtube uploads run at, to stop my bandwidth being used up all at once). Thanks for taking a look again, enjoy your day!

Hi again

So my BSOD problems were gone for the most part since my past post.. I maybe got 1 BSOD a week since then, but the strangest thing happened today, I got 3 BSOD's in the past 7hours.. all of the BSOD's point to "e1d64x64.sys
" being the culprit (when I run my own WinDbg, that's what it finds as the culprit). But "
e1d64x64.sys" is a Intel Network driver, and I went to the intel website and ran their little 'update tool' yet it tells me that all the Intel software on my PC is up to date, so I really don't know what the problem could be.

Since last time, I have ofcourse removed the Seriousbit Netbalancer thing completely from my PC, which was causing all of the problems, so I'm quite curious to see what the problem could be to cause 3 rapid-fire BSOD's like this, that I got this morning.

Anyway, I'd really like your help again blueelvis (or any other master of the windows-witchcrafts :)

Please see what you can find, I've attached the tool-report thingy, with the 3 Minidumps from this morning (all 3 of them happened when I had Google-chrome & firefox open, so maybe it's browser related?)

Thanks in advance,
Awaiting your reply

As we can see from the dump files, the hardware has been blamed and the Intel Gigabit Driver was in the stack while working.

Furthermore, it appears that your processor is working below the actual operating condition. It is running at 2.993 GHz whereas the operating condition is 3.4 GHz. I would suggest you to reset everything in the BIOS to default settings.

Below is a list of 3rd party drivers present on your system :-

The driver highlighted in RED is very famous to cause BSOD's. Also, are you getting any crashes if you Disable the Ethernet network Adapter?

One thing you can do in this case is, go to Device Manager and then uninstall the Driver for the Intel Gigabit by expanding the Network Adapter, right clicking the Intel Gigabit Network Adapter and then click on Uninstall. Once the network driver is uninstalled, reboot your system and let Windows install the driver for the Ethernet Adapter. Do not install any further drivers.

Let me know how it goes ^_^.

OK so I uninstalled my network driver, restarted and then in the BIOS I selected "load default settings". (As far as I know, the only thing I have ever changed in my BIOS was for my CPU fan to spin faster, since it wasn't running fast enough in my opinion). But it is completely reset to default settings now, and then when I got back into windows, windows had already installed the new network driver on its own (although it installed exactly the same driver, that there was previously).

Here is a screenshot of the events for the network driver: http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj486/PlanK69/netdriver.png

You see at 3:46:50am I deleted it, restarted the computer, and then at 3:52:06am it was reinstalled by windows.

I trust that is all that is needed right now. I will post back here in a few days with my results if I hadn't gotten another BSOD again.

Thanks alot, very much appreciated!
