BSOD often whilst downloading or browsing web

I've been experiencing BSOD shortly after upgrade to windows 8.1, roughly a couple of months ago. The frequency is increasing, several times a week is not uncommon. Usually BSOD happens whilst downloading or occasionally just browsing the web.

I'm extremely inexperienced, so please bear with me. Grateful for any help forum users might be able to provide. I've uploaded SFdebugfile for your consideration.

Thank you,

Jeff

Hi DrXavier & Welcome to the forums ^_^,

I am sorry for the late response. There aren't just many people who do the Dump analysis :)

Unfortunately the SF Diagnostic File does not contain any Dump file to analyze. Could you please make sure that the generation of the Minidump files has been enabled by following this **guide**?

If the settings are correct, then please upload this file :- "C:\Windows\Memory.dmp" . It would be a big file so please ZIP it up before uploading. Upload it to any file sharing websites like MediaFire or One Drive and then post the link to it in your next post :).

Hi Blueelvis and thank you.

I'm on call this weekend (hospital), so I don't have the computer to hand. I'll follow your instructions regarding minidump generation on Monday, when I get home.

Thank you for all your help. It is appreciated.

Jeff

Hi blueelvis,

I followed the tutorial and changed the write debugging information setting from 'automatic' to 'small memory dump (256kb)'. However, when I search C:\Windows\Memory.dmp the file doesn't exist. Do I have to wait for a crash for the file to be created and then upload?

Please advise.

Once again, thanks for your help.

Jeff

Once you have done this setting. You would need to check this folder :- "C:\Windows\Minidump" and see if there are any Dump files in it or not. Yes, you would have to wait for a crash to happen for Windows to generate a Dump file.

Hi blueelvis,

I checked C:\Windows\Minidump and the folder is empty. Computer seems to be behaving at the moment! As soon as it crashes I'll upload the file(s).

Thank you.
