    Total Wipe Out

    Hey guys,

    My first post here.

I have a Packard Bell Easynote TEH11, not even a year old.

Last week I got the blue screen of death, randomly saying the PC has to restart, main error was the Kernal_Data_Inpage_error.

I then proceeded to advance options to restore it to factory settings, during that it crashed again, so tried again, and now it is saying that I have to reinstal windows 8.

When I purchased this laptop I did not receive any disc's, and as far as I am aware, there is no product key, only a windows 8 sticker.

Im sorry, I do not have a clue about computer hardware or stuff like this, I am a basic lady lol

    Any replies would be great

Hi LouM1990 & Welcome to the forums ^_^,

I will try to explain in a lucid and clear way but if you do not understand anything, then please feel free to ask me and I would be happy to explain it to you ^_^.

This Stop message indicates that the requested page of kernel data from the paging file could not be read into memory. This Stop message is usually caused by a bad block (sector) in a paging file, a virus, a disk controller error, or failing RAM. In rare cases, it is caused when nonpaged pool resources run out. It is also caused by defective hardware.

So, in your case since you are trying to reformat it and still getting the bugchecks, it means most likely there is hardware problem. My guess would be either a failing hard disk or most likely RAM Problems. If you have got multiple RAM modules then plug in only one RAM module and see if the issue stops. If your laptop refuses to start on first, plug that RAM module out and put in another one.

You could watch this video over Youtube on how to open up the laptop for the RAM module :-

But, since you are not familiar with Hardware, I would suggest you to call in a technician and ask him to check the laptop out especially for the RAM & Hard disk for errors.
