Repeated BSOD related to ntoskrnl.exe

Greetings,

I've been suffering from repeated blue screens, the most recent of which have all been linked to the above-referenced file in the crash dumps. There were blue screens involving other things prior to this but I have since reinstalled windows and no longer have dump files or data available. The previous ones kept indicating NTFS file structure errors, so I eventually reset my SSD to factory and reinstalled windows in an attempt to fix. This is a fairly new PC build, perhaps three months old and these issues have cropped up within the past month or so.

So far I have:

Checked for malware, rootkits, etc before and after reinstall of windows
Thoroughly checked memory with Memtest86
Performed multiple Furmark stress tests on the GPU
Pulled out and re-seated the video card
Checked all connections for hardware
Monitored voltages, temps, etc and found nothing unusual
Rolled back to several previous AMD drivers for the GPU and rolled forward to beta drivers
Put the cpu/memory through the Prime95 grinder

All of these failed to fix the issue or produce any errors or further blue screens. Running out of ideas here!

Any help pointing me in the right direction would be very much appreciated at this point. Please let me know if you need any additional information.

Thanks,

Mike

I noted that your pagefile space is only 208 mB - please set the pagefile to "system-managed" size

If you're overclocking, please stop the overclock while we're troubleshooting. Feel free to resume the overclock once the system has been stabilized. i5 and i7 processors can be "auto-overclocked" by using Intel's TurboBoost feature. If so, it's safe to disregard this caution.

One of the memory dumps is Driver Verifier Enabled. Did you enable Driver Verifier? If so, what settings did you use?

This looks like a hardware problem to me - so start with these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics
Feel free to skip those tests that you've already run (recently).

Make sure that you get ALL available Windows Updates, and ALL available Wind8.1 updates for your system from Asus

I see that there is presence of Samsung Rapid. Is this issue appearing if you disable the Rapid Mode? More info on the Rapid Mode can be found here :-

AnandTech | Samsung SSD 840 EVO Review: 120GB, 250GB, 500GB, 750GB & 1TB Models Tested

Apparently, the highlighted drivers are the Samsung RAPID Mode Disk Filter driver. If the problem is still not solved then see if uninstalling the Samsung Software Suite for your SSD solves the problem or not.

If the problem is still not resolved, I would be glad to help you out further ^_^.

EDIT :- Please follow Usasma's post first. ^_^.

Thank you both for responding, I really appreciate it.

I noted that your pagefile space is only 208 mB - please set the pagefile to "system-managed" size

Done. (It was actually set at a 2-2000 range, not specifically 208mb, if it matters)

The processor is running in its out-of-the-box configuration with no modification on my part. How would I go about adjusting this?

One of the memory dumps is Driver Verifier Enabled. Did you enable Driver Verifier? If so, what settings did you use?

Everything but low resource sim and force pending i/o was selected.

This looks like a hardware problem to me - so start with these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics
Feel free to skip those tests that you've already run (recently).

Furmark, Memtest86, prime95, chkdsk, Crystal Disk Info - Have been run within the last 72 hours.

I also ran memtestCL on the GPU, everything was fine except the "random blocks" test, which reported 40 failed iterations and 817933 total incorrect bits. Anything to be concerned about? I don't really know what this means.

The only other tools I'm really seeing here in these lists are the video memory stress test and the artifact locator, which sound intriguing, but are apparently Russian-language only. Was there anything in particular you were wanting me to run?

I'll do some digging and see if I can find a better diagnostic from samsung for the SSD I guess, but samsung magician reports 100% good working order.

I have spent most of my time this morning trying to find explanations of the errors that memtestCL generates - but haven't found anything.

That being said, it's my opinion here that "an error is an error" - so you should be concerned about it.
Do you have another video card that you can test with? If not, can you purchase one from a shop that will refund your money if it's not needed?

If you download the memory test from this link: http://nvworld.ru/files/downloads/utils/vmt.zip (be sure to scan anything downloaded from the internetwith an antivirus BEFORE opening it)
Extract it and double click on the vmt.eng.bat file in order to run the English version (I've gotta update the links/descriptions on that page!)

The OCBase link is in English, so you can use those tests without translation.

Also, if you have onboard graphics, try that also.
Testing another card and the onboard graphics will help to tell if it's the card or the motherboard.

Before pulling out the card, I wanted to produce a bsod again. Haven't been able to do it, despite my best efforts.

Gonna give that a few more days.
