BSOD - hal.dll+37203. ntoskrnl.exe+1c0825

My PC keeps restarting occasionally without BSOD, and sometimes with. The sudden restarts normally come with watching Twitch.tv or videos, and the BSOD with either playing games + or watching videos. Any help would be appreciated as even the PC shops can't assist.

System specs:
Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit (6.3, Build 9600)
Nvidia GeForce GTX 780
AMD FX-8350
8192MB RAM

Hi Tomobom & Welcome to the forums,

I have analyzed your dump files and two of them are the WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR so we might be possibly looking at a hardware fault even though there are chances that this could be caused by some low level drivers as well. Below is a short summary of your dump files :-

I have highlighted a few drivers in my above list. Those drivers are part of the various ASUS bloatware which is generally found to cause BSOD these days and your drivers are extremely old as well to be compatible with Windows 8.1.

Hence, please remove all the ASUS Bloatware you could find on your system. Most likely in case of AiCharger.sys , you would need to manually delete that file.

Also, the dumps mentioned that there was a Cache fault in Proc 0 Bank 1 & Proc 1 Bank 1. Usually, I have seen such scenarios when the user is Overclocking their hardware as well. So, in case you are overclocking your system, PLEASE REVERT TO STOCK SETTINGS.

In case the problem is not solved, please feel free to post back over here & I would be glad to help you out.

I think I've removed the bloatware, they all came on disc a while ago with AI Suite II. I've since uninstalled this, and restored everything on the bios menu to defaults, and I'm yet to test if the problem still arises.

Thank you for the in-depth reply too, really appreciated.

A system cannot remain stable on an overclock forever, it always degrades faster while overclocked :(

Anyways, looking forward to your update ^_^.

Hi again!

I've encountered another problem that's basically the same as the previous errors.
I did the stupid task of going into the BIOS and selecting the fastest settings that appeared on the screen, then downloaded an NVIDIA driver, and reinstalled Chrome.
I've read your post again to see if it was the same thing and I've removed some ASUS bloatware that (re?)appeared as well as reverting everything back to the previous settings in the BIOS menu. If you have the time I'd be very grateful if you could have a look for me to see if that actually isn't the problem. I'll report back if it does it again.

Cheers

Kindly follow the below steps -

  1. Please rename the ASUS Bloatware Drivers highlighted in RED by doing a manual system wide search and change the names of the drivers.
  2. The 0x124 dump file suggests that there was a problem in executing the instruction due to some cache problem in Processor 0 Bank 1. You have experienced these bug checks earlier as well. I would suggest you to run the Prime95 according to this link - http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html#prime95 and report back the temperatures while idle and while running the Prime95 test.
  3. Make sure that the system is not overheating. Oh the dreadful summers!

Let me know how it goes ^_^
