Well I would suggest updating your graphic driver but now that you are stuck on a guest account it makes this a little more tricky...

Try this:

http://www.eightforums.com/tutorial...rator-account-enable-disable-windows-8-a.html

If that doesn't work try this:

http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/2757-safe-mode-start-windows-8-a.html

thank you I downloaded Drivermax and it seems i have a lot of outdated drivers. I'll come back once i have results.
Also i am able to install drivers as long as i type i the administrator password when it asks for permision.

I ended up using DriverScanner and Driver Booster. After they both said i have updated all my drivers i rebooted my laptop but still get BSOD when i try to sign out. Is there anything else i can do? Drivermax still says i have 13 drivers that need updated and Slimdrivers says i have nine.

Please couldyou post your dumpfiles according to these instructions here http://www.eightforums.com/bsod-crashes-debugging/10685-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html .
Please use option one and use Grab all.
Before I started this thread i read that and tried both options, none of which produced anything for me on my desktop(Guest). I ran both of them again and still no results. I decided to look in my non-Guest desktop for it. Since i was having trouble getting into administrator folder I downloaded explorer++ and found two zip files from the second option since a ran it twice and no folders from the first option. Anyway here they are.

UPDATE: I followed the instructions on this page and am now in my regular account with administrator access. I also got the first option of the bsod posting instructions working.

Please turn Driver Verifier off as it's done it's job. To do this, open up verifier.exe and select "Delete existing settings". Click on "Finish" and reboot for the changes to take effect.

The latest memory dump is Driver Verifier enabled and points to your ELAN PS/2 Port Smart Pad. Several dumps point to this driver - but a couple of them point to other drivers (wifi and usb).
Please:
- download a fresh copy of the latest, Win8.1 compatible driver from the Lenovo website
- uninstall the current software/drivers from your system (for this device)
- install the freshly downloaded drivers
- monitor for further BSOD's

Please remove HotSpotShield (the driver is hssdrv6.sys) as it's know to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems.

Please remove VMWare as one of it's drivers dates from 2009 ( vmusb.sys )
Feel free to reinstall the latest, Win8.1 compatible version AFTER we have finished troubleshooting and the system has been stabilized.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

dokan.sys Mon Jan 10 07:49:42 2011 (4D2B0066)
Dokan » Dokan library
dokan.sys - this driver hasn't been added to the DRT as of this run. Please search Google/Bing for the driver if additional information is needed.

Ext2Fsd.SYS Fri Jul 8 13:08:38 2011 (4E173996)
ext2 file system driver
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=Ext2Fsd.SYS

gfibto.sys Thu Sep 1 21:31:28 2011 (4E6031F0)
Possibly a VIPRE Antivirus driver
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=gfibto.sys

Please note the drivers below that date from before the release of Windows 8.1 (17 Oct 2013) - check to see that each and every one is compatible w/Windows 8.1 (at the manufacturer's website). If not, you must either remove the device and it's software - or locate a Windows 8.1 compatible update on the web. Removing some drivers may make the system unstable - so if you're unable to find updates, post back for info on the one's that can/cannot be safely removed.

Please note the drivers below that date from before the release of Windows 8.1 (17 Oct 2013) - check to see that each and every one is compatible w/Windows 8.1 (at the manufacturer's website). If not, you must either remove the device and it's software - or locate a Windows 8.1 compatible update on the web. Removing some drivers may make the system unstable - so if you're unable to find updates, post back for info on the one's that can/cannot be safely removed.

Thank you very much, but there is a slight problem. I don't have Hotspot Shield installed. Should i install it and then uninstall it? I also was unable to find the program responsible for gfibto.sys. I didnt find a driver for my ELAN PS/2 Port Smart Pad on levovo. I only found two windows 8.1 touch pad drivers ELAN TOUCHPAD DRIVER and SYNAPTICS TOUCHPAD DRIVER.

EDIT: I tried signing out and i didn't get a bsod. I guess that's because driver verifier is off.

What other applications do you have installed that hide you on the web? One of them is most likely using the the HotSpotShield drivers.

We can manually remove the driver, but there's some potential problems with this. It'll break the program that is using it (and we can't predict the consequences of that), and it may render the system unbootable. It's better to find the program that uses it and remove that.

Let us know and we'll move on from there.

I think I know what happened. I had Hotspot shield installed and it didn't uninstall correctly. I just reinstalled and uninstalled Hotspot Shield and the driver is gone. I still cant get rid of the gfibto.sys driver or update my ELAN PS/2 Port Smart Pad. Thank you for helping me out.

I see McAfee and Vipre anti-virus drivers on your system.
Remove all of them (and any other antivirus/firewall that may be installed), then use these free removal tools to remove any remnants of them: Antivirus Uninstallers
Vipre is listed as Sunbelt Vipre.

Once you've removed all the antivirus programs, be sure to check that Windows Defender and the Windows Firewall are activated.
In the future, only have one anti-virus and one firewall resident in memory at a time (they fight with each other for control of the system).

Also, once the antivirus' are removed, please run several of these free antivirus scans to ensure that the system is free of infections. The list is rather old, so some of the scans may not be compatible w/Win8.

Then let us know where you stand in fixing things - and we'll move on from there.

Good luck!

I had McAfee preinstalled on my laptop and uninstalled it but never ran the removal tool which is probably why the drivers where still there. McAfee was successfully removed and the driver is no longer present. Also I've never installed vipre on to my laptop. The only antivirus I have is Qihoo 360 Internet Security.(I also have Malwarebytes installed but its more of just a scanner) Should I uninstall both of them. The link for sunbelt vipre is not working.

Remove the Qihoo 360 Internet Security and the MalwareBytes (just for testing).
Be sure that Windows Defender and the Windows Firewall are turned on after removing the others.

Then run several scans from this link: Free Online AntiMalware Resources
The page is rather old, so some of the scans may not be compatible w/Win8 or 8.1

I'll be fixing the Vipre link on that webpage shortly. It appears that Sunbelt was purchased by ThreatTrack
I found manual removal instructions there, but no cleaning tool.

I uninstalled Qihoo 360 Internet Security and the MalwareBytes, but the driver still remains. I scanned and nothing was found. Now I just need a vipre cleanup utility.

Try this:
1) Create a Restore Point using System Restore
2) Create a Repair disc (Recovery Drive in Win8.1):
Win 7 - Go to Start...All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc
Win 8 - Press "WIN" and "R" to open the Run dialog...type "RECDISC" (without the quotes) and press ENTER
Win 8.1 - Go to the Start Screen and type in "recoverydrive" (one word, without the quotes). That will start the recovery drive process. You will need a USB drive of at least 512 mB - and all data will be erased off of it. If copying the recovery partition the drive size will be much, much larger (16 - 32 gB drive required).
3) Test the System Repair disc/Recovery Drive to make sure that you can get to the System Restore entry when you boot from the disk/drive (you may also want to try actually using System Restore to make sure that it works)
4) Download this free program (Autoruns for Windows) and use it to disable any instances of hssdrv6.sys that are starting (or any other HotSpot Shield entries) (DO NOT DELETE - only disable by removing the checkmark in the left hand column)
5) Check in Device Manager (to include showing hidden devices from the View menu item) and ensure that any instances of hssdrv6.sys (or any other HotSpot Shield entries) are "Uninstalled" (DO NOT DISABLE THESE).
6) Check in the Services applet (services.msc) to be sure any instances of hssdrv6.sys or any other HotSpotShield entries are disabled.
7) Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers and rename the hssdrv6.sys driver to hssdrv6.BAD (search the hard drive for it if it's not in C:\Windows\System32\drivers).

In the event that the system doesn't boot:

1) Boot from the System Repair disc/Recovery Drive and use the Command Prompt option to rename hssdrv6.BAD to hssdrv6.sys
Code:
ren C:\Windows\System32\drivers\hssdrv6.BAD C:\Windows\System32\drivers\hssdrv6.sys
2) Boot from the System Repair disc/Recovery Drive and use the System Restore option to restore the system to a point before the changes were made.

Good luck!

That uninstaller is likely a copy of the one that I linked to (and my link was dead). It is probably legit.

ThreatTrack recommends this tool to remove Vipre: Fix problems that programs cannot be installed or uninstalled
Here's the manual removal instructions: How to manually remove VIPRE Antivirus or VIPRE Internet Security : Support

Check for hssdrv6.sys after running the removal tool. If it's still there, then try the manual removal instructions.
Although I've never tried it, you might try installing HotSpotShield and then uninstalling it - then check for hssdrv6.sys to be sure.

Good luck!

I had already gotten rid of the Hotspot shield driver by installing and uninstalling it. (see quoted text above) I used the link you gave me to uninstall vipre, but it didn't work. I downloaded and used mine and the driver is now gone.

Should I turn driver verifier back on now? Thank you for all your help.

If the BSOD's continue please:
- zip up and upload the contents of C:\Windows\Minidump (you may have to copy them to your Desktop in order to zip them)
- then turn on Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

If the BSOD's don't come back, then there's no need for Driver Verifier :0)
