Hi i have done a fresh install a couple weeks ago and have just been enduring this constant crash but it generally occurs after pc has gone to standby/sleep overnight and i see it when i return to the PC in the morning.

Let me know what other information you might be needing.

Thanks Ben

Hey Blueelvis thanks for the response.
Im still having problems though by getting Kernel Security Check Failure BSOD.

I updated some but not all of the drivers that were posted and i deleted the usbaapl64.sys. I didn't quite understand how to update any kaspersky drivers though.

PS: I dont have permissions to PM you, but would like to.

Thanks again

Ben

Hi Bennie,

My profile privacy settings says that I can receive PM's from anyone, seems like there is a board restriction. Anyways, I have already PMed you. Furthermore, could you please remove the below software? :-

1. Kaspersky (Visit This **LINK** to download the cleaning tool and use it to uninstall the Kaspersky).
2. MalwareBytes (Visit This **LINK** to download the cleaning tool like kaspersky).
3. Intel Smart Connect

Let me know, in case the BSOD's persist ^_^.

Please follow the below steps :-

Please remove Kaspersky using this **TOOL** till the time we are troubleshooting.

There are loads of System Components corruption. Please run the below Tools :-
CHKDSK /R /F:
Run CHKDSK /R /F from an elevated (Run as adminstrator) Command Prompt. Please do this for each hard drive on your system.
FWIW - I know that the /F is supposed to be redundant, but I prefer to have it run anyway.
When it tells you it can't do it right now - and asks you if you'd like to do it at the next reboot - answer Y (for Yes) and press Enter. Then reboot and let the test run. It may take a while for it to run, but keep an occasional eye on it to see if it generates any errors. See "CHKDSK LogFile" below in order to check the results of the test.

SFC.EXE /SCANNOW
Go to Start and type in "cmd.exe" (without the quotes)
At the top of the search box, right click on the cmd.exe and select "Run as adminstrator"
In the black window that opens, type "SFC.EXE /SCANNOW" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
Let the program run and post back what it says when it's done.

If the programs do not return back any errors then please run the Memtest according to this **GUIDE**.

Let me know how it goes ^_^.

Hi Blueelvis, i finally have time to get this fixxed.
I have just done the first couple of steps that you recommended from your last post.

I have four drives: C, D, E, F
CHKDSK /R /F:
Only worked for my C and F ( C being my windows drive), the other 2 gave a bad perimeter error.
I watched the process run for the 2 drives and no errors were returned doing the process.
The CHKDSK LogFile doesn't open when i try to open it, a small cmd window pops up for a millisecond and then dissapears when i try run that file.

I will post the results of SFC.EXE /SCANNOW soon.

As i have been trying to continue with the memtest, i noticed my DVDROM has stopped responding and the drivers are no longer installed correctly, i also noticed on the LG website that the device drivers (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH20NS10) are only up to 2009 and therefore there is no Windows 8.1 version, could this be a reason for the problems ?
I am also struggling to run the memory test because when running " Auto-installer for USB Key (Win 9x/2k/xp/7)" on the flash drive" I need to select the flash-drive location, there is no option to select my drives. (the scroll box is empty)

I have found that in BSOD Analysis, anything is possible but I don't think that a DVD driver would cause BSODs as I haven't ever seen it but we cannot ignore it.

Regarding the memtest, are you following the instructions properly? Did you try some other Flash Drive? Are you formatting the drive properly?

So i got the memory test going. I let it run for 14 hours but there were only 6x "Pass" that were complete. No errors.
Whats next ?

That seems fine. Kindly run Driver Verifier according to this guide -
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable - Windows 7 Help Forums

and make sure that you let it crash for few times. After this, re run the SF Diagnostic ZIP File and then upload a freshly generated SF Diagnostic ZIP File.

Hi, since the guide provided is for windows 7, an option was missing:

Nn step 3 of driver verifier: "3. Make sure Standard settings, Force pending I/O requests, and IRP Logging are selected, and hit Next."

Standard setting box was not an option so i only checked Force Pending I/O requests and IRP logging and I/O verification.

Is this fine ?

Hi Bennie ^_^,

Once you reach that step, you would get the window to select the options. In the third column, you would see the Flag Types. In that there are "Standard" flags. Kindly select those Flags for the Standard settings and then select the Force pending I/O requests, and IRP Logging.

Let me know how it goes ^_^

Ye i figured as much yesterday. The verifier has been running for almost a day now and there has been no BSODS, to think though i havent had any BSODs in a long time, not even one since removing Kaspersky..

Thanks again

Antivirus and old drivers are the major cause of the BSODs.
Generally, Driver Verifier is able to find the faulting driver/problem very fast if there is any. If you haven't got any BSODs with Verifier being turned on, then most likely everything is fine ^_^

If you think that the problem is solved, kindly Mark this thread as SOLVED.
In case not, feel free to post back ^_^.

Ok so i left it the verifier going for quite a few days..

Got quite a few BSOD's in this period and the majority had something about IO driver verifier in the reasoning i think.. Here is the latest dump. Thanks again :D :D
