Hi Guys

Over the past 3 weeks been getting "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has success" popping up randomly seems to happen first thing after recover from sleep or a fresh boot up. It happens about 4 to 8 times then settles down. On the odd occasion it freezes the mouse and the whole computer niot even ctrl-alt-del will help!!!

Scrolling in Excel or in my browser seems to trigger it.

HI

I have Windows 8.1 but only a Windows 8 product key. So it becomes tricky due to Microsoft not allowing product keys from 8 to 8.1

Windows 8.1 is only an update. Your Windows 8 key will work, just be sure to have it handy.

Windows 8.1 is more than just an update, its a full blown OS upgrade. Windows 8.1 will not accept an 8.0 key for setup so what key you have can be an issue depending on what your trying to do. You can activate Windows 8.1 with an 8.0 key but you can't install 8.1 with an 8.0 key.

SO guys

Back to my issue please can you advice further? I have now noticed my Pc if left on runs fine but from boot up it starts playing up. I booted this morning left it 15 minutes went to sign in frozen! I rebooted i logged straight in no issue but after 5 minutes mouse froze and whole system froze not even cntl-alt-del or ctrl shift -esc.

I am leaning towards hardware but not sure how to work out what it is.??
